JOB OVERVIEW:
Vertical Electric Inc specializes in high-precision cost estimating for industrial electrical infrastructure in California. We are seeking a long-term, full-time, extremely detail-oriented Industrial Electrical Estimator.
This is not a commercial or residential role; you will be responsible for developing full, "start-to-finish" estimates for complex industrial facilities including Water/Wastewater Treatment, Pump Stations, and Power Substations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Takeoff mastery: Perform detailed material and man-hour takeoffs for equipment, conduit (including PVC Coated GRS systems), wire, and 316SS supports and hangers, using ConEst IntelliBid.
- Design/Build Estimating: Quantify projects using incomplete drawing sets (30% or 60?sign level). You must be able to conceptualize and include missing information.
- Technical Review: Read and interpret P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams, and complex technical specifications.
- Retrofit Logic: Estimate sequencing, cutovers, temporary power, and generator work for industrial upgrades.
- Scope Development: Formulate clear scope clarifications and exclusions.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
- Systems: Deep knowledge of 15kv, 5kv, 480V, 120V systems.
- Equipment: Experience with MCCs, VFDs, Switchgear, Controls Panels, etc.
- Process Controls: Strong understanding of water/wastewater instrumentation (flowmeters, analyzers, pressure transmitters, level transmitters, float switches, PLC's, RTU's, etc.)
- Hazardous Locations: Mastery of installation methods for corrosive and Classified/Hazardous environments.
WORK SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:
Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM PHT (Allows for evening coordination with our California team).
Monthly Salary: $1,200 – $2,000 USD (Negotiable based on depth of Industrial & IntelliBid experience).
Benefits: 13th-Month Pay provided annually; stable, long-term remote work.
HOW TO APPLY:
To ensure you have read this entire post, please include the following in your application:
- Resume (PDF Preferred)
- A summary of your experience with ConEst IntelliBid and Industrial Electrical Estimating.
- A description of the most complex industrial electrical estimate you performed.
- Provide an answer to the following question: You are performing a 60% takeoff and the P&ID shows a flowmeter, but the Electrical Plan doesn't show the conduit or the PLC input. In IntelliBid, do you carry that as a 'Scope Clarification' or do you plug in a 'Typical Assembly' to cover it? Why?
