JOB OVERVIEW

The Role
We're looking for a self-sufficient Remote SEO Specialist who lives and breathes search — not just traditional SEO, but the emerging world of AI-driven search and Generative Engine Optimization. You'll work directly on dealership accounts, developing strategies, creating SOPs, executing technical work, and helping shape how our agency approaches SEO and GEO for a competitive industry.

This isn't a "set it and forget it" role. You'll be expected to think, build, and improve — and you'll have the tools and autonomy to do it.

What You'll Do
SEO Strategy & Execution
• Manage on-page, technical, and local SEO for automotive dealership clients
• Conduct keyword research with a focus on intent, AI Overview triggers, and dealer-relevant queries
• Audit and improve site structure, internal linking, HTML markup, and schema
• Optimize Google Business Profile listings for local visibility and engagement
• Monitor and report on keyword rankings, GBP actions, VDP views, and branded search volume growth

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
• Execute content and citation strategies designed to increase AI Overview appearances
• Build brand authority through content distribution across LinkedIn, Medium, Reddit, YouTube, and industry forums
• Research and monitor how AI search engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) surface dealership content
• Stay current with AI search ranking signals and adapt strategies accordingly

Content & Technical
• Write and publish SEO-optimized content for dealership websites (models, geo pages, FAQs, buying guides)
• Apply basic HTML and on-page markup — you know what a title tag, H-tag hierarchy, and schema look like in the wild
• Identify and resolve crawl issues, redirect chains, duplicate content, and Core Web Vital problems
• Bonus: Assist with light web development tasks or CMS-level page builds when needed

Process, Systems & Innovation
• Create and maintain SOPs for repeatable SEO and GEO tasks
• Use AI tools (especially Claude / Claude Code) to automate reporting, content drafts, research, and workflow steps
• Proactively identify inefficiencies and propose — then build — better ways of doing things
• Bring ideas to tea ---------- etings; we want to hear what you're reading, testing, and thinking

What We're Looking For
Required
• 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience (agency or in-house)
• Proficiency with Ahrefs — keyword research, backlink analysis, site audits, rank tracking
• Working knowledge of HTML — enough to edit source, identify issues, and implement fixes
• Familiarity with AI tools — specifically Claude or Claude Code for research, content, and automation
• Strong understanding of Google Search Console and GA4 for performance analysis
• Self-starter mentality — you figure things out, you don't wait to be told
• Ability to write clear SOPs and document your processes
• Strong written communication skills

Preferred / Bonus
• Experience in automotive SEO or dealer digital marketing
• Understanding of GEO concepts — AI Overview optimization, entity-based SEO, citation building
• Web development skills (HTML/CSS, basic JS, CMS platforms like WordPress or ---------- )
• Experience building or using prompt-based AI workflows for agency tasks
• Familiarity with Looker Studio, Data Studio, or similar reporting tools
