JOB OVERVIEW

We are VULCAN Fitness, an Australian-owned and operated ecommerce business in the home and commercial gym equipment space. Our goal is simple - to help as many Australians as possible access high-quality fitness equipment at an affordable price and achieve their fitness goals.

We are looking for a Video Editor to join our team and help us turn raw footage into conversion-focused ads for Meta, Google/YouTube, and short-form content platforms. This is not just a role for someone who can make videos look good. We want someone who understands how to make content that helps sell products, stop the scroll, and scale winning creatives.

Rate: $1,000 USD per month

Important: You must be available during high-volume campaign periods, especially in the lead-up to EOFY and BFCM, when turnaround speed becomes critical.

What you’ll be editing
- Hero customer gym setup videos
- Founder-led content
- Athlete shoots with popular Australian sports figures who trust our brand
- Product demo videos ( How to use, what exercises you can do with 1 thing, comparisons)
- UGC raw content turned into reels and paid ads
- Before/after gym transformation content
- Paid ad creatives
- Sales ads across hype, live, and last chance campaign phases (EOFY, BFCM, NY sale periods)

What success looks like in this role:
- Turning raw footage into strong, conversion-focused ads quickly
- Helping us create more repeatable and scalable ad creatives
- Supporting fast content turnaround during launches and sale periods, while encouraging high-quality evergreen creatives outside of sales.
- Bringing ideas that help improve performance and purchases, not just aesthetics
- Helping us scale creative output across Meta and Google/YouTube

You should be confident editing
- Movement-driven yet educational content
- Ambient training clips and mic’d-up content
- UGC-style ads and short-form test creatives from raw footage
- Fast-turnaround ad variations based on performance data

You must understand
- The importance of hooks in the first 1-3 seconds + how customers engage with them
- Ad pacing and retention
- Cutdowns and versioning from one source file
- Subtitles and text overlays
- Platform formatting for Meta and YouTube (9:16, 1:1, 16:9)
- how to incorporate different CTAs and offers depending on campaign angle
- How to spot funny, intriguing, or on-trend ---------- nts that can become strong hooks

Deliverables we commonly need:
- Multiple hook variations from one shoot
- Different CTA and offer versions, cna reuse content with same/similar message, but different hook to draw customers in
- Raw footage organisation
- Creative input when you identify a stronger angle, while still following our branding

Example of what we may expect from one athlete shoot:
1 x cinematic brand piece for a collaborative Instagram post
1 x UGC-feel ad
1 x product-focused / exercise-driven video
2 x hook variants
1 x YouTube version

You are a strong fit if you
- Have experience editing ads for ecommerce brands
- Understand paid social creative, not just cinematic editing
- Can take one shoot and turn it into multiple usable assets
- Work quickly and communicate clearly
- Can follow a brief while still bringing your own ideas
- Understand that speed, iteration, and performance matter

Bonus if you have experience:
- editing for fitness, sport, or equipment brands
- with Meta ads or YouTube ad creatives
- working with UGC or founder-led content
- A good eye for direct-response editing

To apply, please send
- Your portfolio
- 3-5 examples of ads you’ve edited for ecommerce brands for Meta ads (if not found in portfolio)
- Your usual turnaround time for a 15-30 second ad
- What editing software you use

Important: Please include examples of ads made for ecommerce brands, not just cinematic edits. We don't need wedding-video ambience, we want authentic, educational, and goal-driven ads.
