THE ROLE
We are looking for a talented, proactive Video Editor and Content Manager to take Ali’s raw footage and turn it into polished, high-performing content across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube. You will be Ali’s right hand in the content world — someone who understands personal brand storytelling, knows what makes people stop scrolling, and can manage multiple platforms without dropping the ball.
This is not a passive editing role. We want someone who brings ideas, spots opportunities, and cares about the growth of the channel as if it were their own.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Video Editing
• Edit raw footage into polished TikTok and Instagram Reels (30–90 seconds)
• Edit long-form YouTube videos (10–20 minutes) with titles, chapters and flow
• Cut 3–5 short-form clips from every YouTube video for TikTok and Reels
• Add subtitles, captions, lower thirds and on-screen text throughout
• Add background music, sound effects and transitions appropriate to each platform
• Create eye-catching YouTube thumbnails for every video
Content Management
• Write captions, hooks and post copy in Ali’s voice across all platforms
• Write YouTube titles, descriptions and tags optimised for search
• Upload and schedule content across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube
• Manage a rolling content calendar so nothing is ever late or missed
• Track basic performance metrics and flag what’s working each week
Collaboration
• Communicate clearly with Ali via WhatsApp or Slack on a daily basis
• Take briefs, receive raw footage and return edited content within agreed turnaround
• Proactively suggest content ideas, trending formats and improvements
• Be responsive, reliable and proactive — not someone who needs chasing
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential Skills — You Must Have These
• Proven experience editing short-form video for TikTok and/or Instagram Reels
• Experience editing long-form YouTube content (please include examples)
• Proficient in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or equivalent
• Strong written English — captions and copy must feel natural and native
• Reliable high-speed internet and a capable editing computer
• Self-managed, deadline-driven and highly organised
• Available for a daily or every-other-day check-in via WhatsApp or Slack
Bonus Skills — These Will Make You Stand Out
• Experience working with personal brands or content creators
• Understanding of hooks, pattern interrupts and retention techniques on TikTok
• Ability to create motion graphics or animated text overlays
• Canva or Photoshop skills for thumbnail creation and social graphics
• SEO knowledge for YouTube titles and descriptions
• Experience managing a content calendar and scheduling tools (Buffer, Metricool)
This Role Is NOT For You If…
• You need constant direction and hand-holding
• You treat deadlines as suggestions
• You submit work without watching it back first
• You apply with a generic CV and no portfolio or examples of your work
• You are not genuinely interested in personal brand content and storytelling
THE PAID TEST PROJECT — READ THIS CAREFULLY
We do not hire without testing first. This protects both of us.
Before any commitment is made, every shortlisted candidate will be given a paid test project. Here is exactly how it works:
STEP 1 You apply with your portfolio, a short introduction and your rate.
STEP 2 If shortlisted, Ali will send you a short piece of raw footage (approx. 5–10 minutes).
STEP 3 You will be asked to produce: (a) One 60-second TikTok/Reel edit with captions and (b) One 3-minute YouTube-style cut with subtitles and a thumbnail.
STEP 4 You will have 48 hours to complete and return both edits.
STEP 5 You will be paid $30 USD for completing the test — regardless of whether you are hired.
STEP 6 Ali will review all submissions and the best candidate will be offered the role.
We take the test seriously. We expect you to as well. The edit you send us IS your interview.
