Role Overview
If you love clean books, clear systems, and taking ownership of the accounting process—this
role is for you.
As an Accounting Manager, you’ll manage your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients, oversee
day-to-day accounting execution, and assist with answering client questions as they arise. This
role works primarily behind the scenes to keep financials accurate and organized, with
occasional client communication—primarily via
professional who can work independently, communicate clearly when needed, and keep books
clean without hand-holding.

Key Responsibilities
Client Bookkeeping Ownership
- Manage and maintain an assigned book of bookkeeping clients
- Perform monthly and quarterly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online
- Ensure accurate categorization, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Maintain clean, audit-ready books aligned with firm standards
Client Communication & Support
- Communicate clearly and professionally via
questions, and follow-ups
- Proactively request missing information and resolve discrepancies
- Escalate issues appropriately when needed while maintaining client confidence
Back-End Bookkeeping Administration
- Handle bookkeeping-related admin tasks including transaction reviews, reconciliations,
and documentation
- Maintain organized workpapers and supporting schedules
- Track and manage deadlines across multiple clients
- Ensure bookkeeping workflows are followed consistently and efficiently
Quality Control & Firm Collaboration
- Maintain high accuracy and consistency across all client files
- Collaborate with tax, planning, and internal teams as needed
- Identify inefficiencies or recurring issues and suggest process improvements
- Uphold firm values through accountability, responsiveness, and attention to detail
Role Expectations
- Independently manage a full bookkeeping client load
- Maintain timely and professional client communication
- Deliver consistently accurate financials with minimal rework
- Meet deadlines and proactively communicate if issues arise
- Operate with minimal oversight while following firm systems
Requirements
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of reconciliations, categorization, and financial reporting
- Proven experience managing bookkeeping clients independently
- Excellent written and verbal client communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- No license required
