About the Role
We are a growing business services firm that helps entrepreneurs, small businesses, and organizations secure funding, build business credit, and win government contracts. We're looking for a Business Funding & Government Contracts Specialist who can manage the full lifecycle of capital access — from business loan applications and credit card approvals to identifying, writing, and submitting government bids.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience navigating SBA lending, commercial credit products, and federal/state/local procurement portals. You'll work directly with the CEO to help clients and internal ventures secure the capital and contracts they need to grow.
What You'll Do
Business Loan & Credit Applications
Prepare and submit business loan applications (SBA 7(a), SBA 504, microloans, term loans, lines of credit, equipment financing)
Research and match clients with the best lending products from banks, credit unions, CDFIs, and alternative lenders
Complete business credit card applications for high-limit cards (Chase Ink, Amex Business, Capital One Spark, etc.) and manage approval strategies
Build and optimize business credit profiles — EIN credit, Dun & Bradstreet (PAYDEX), Experian Business, Equifax Business
Prepare financial packages including P&L statements, cash flow projections, business plans, and personal financial statements for lender submissions
Track application status, manage follow-ups with underwriters, and handle document requests through closing
Maintain a pipeline tracker of all active loan and credit applications with status updates
Government Bids & Contract Procurement
Monitor and identify relevant government contract opportunities on
Prepare and submit bid proposals, RFP/RFQ/IFB responses, and capability statements
Manage
Research set-aside programs (8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, SDVOSB) and determine eligibility for clients
Write compelling past performance narratives, technical approaches, and pricing schedules
Track bid deadlines, manage submission calendars, and ensure compliance with solicitation requirements
Build and maintain a government contracts pipeline with win/loss tracking and post-award follow-up
General Business Development Support
Assist with grant research and application support for nonprofit and for-profit programs (federal, state, foundation)
Support business entity compliance (annual filings, registered agent, business licenses, state registrations)
Help prepare investor-facing documents and data room materials when needed
Provide regular reporting on funding pipeline, approval rates, and contract wins
Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of hands-on experience with business loan applications (SBA, commercial, alternative lending)
Proven track record of successful business credit card approvals and business credit building
Direct experience with government bid writing and proposal submissions (federal, state, or local)
Working knowledge of
Understanding of SBA lending programs, CDFI funding, and commercial underwriting criteria
Strong written communication skills — ability to write clear, persuasive proposals and financial summaries
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple applications, deadlines, and client accounts simultaneously
Proficient with Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, CRM tools, and document management systems
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment
Bonus / Nice-to-Have
Experience as a loan broker, loan officer, or SBA lending specialist
PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) training or certification
Knowledge of Dun & Bradstreet credit building,
Familiarity with Georgia state procurement and local county/municipal bid portals
Experience with nonprofit grant writing (federal grants, foundation proposals)
Background in real estate, property management, legal services, or housing-related industries
Experience with AI tools for research, writing, and workflow automation
