We are a skincare brand building high-converting Video Sales Letters (VSLs) for a product targeting women 30+ dealing with tretinoin skin damage.
We need a video editor who understands direct response video — not just "making things look pretty." This is about pacing, tension, emotional rhythm, and keeping a viewer watching for 15–30+ minutes.
What you'll be editing:
Long-form VSLs (15–45 minutes) built from UGC-style clips, screen recordings, and text-on-screen sequences
Short-form hooks and ads (15–60 seconds) pulled from the longer VSL
Testimonial compilation clips
Before/after sequences with proper pacing
What we need you to know (or learn fast):
How to pace a VSL so it doesn't lose the viewer at the 3-minute mark
How to use text overlays, zooms, cuts, and transitions that serve the STORY — not just look flashy
How to edit UGC footage to feel authentic but polished
How to sync voiceover/narration with b-roll and text
Basic color correction and audio cleanup
CapCut, Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
Bonus (not required but will move you to the top):
You've edited VSLs, advertorials, or long-form direct response video before
You understand what a "hook," "lead," "mechanism," and "close" mean in a sales video
You've worked in health, beauty, or skincare niches
You can show examples of long-form sales videos you've edited (not music videos, not vlogs — sales videos)
