Winding Branch Ranch is a farm animal rescue and agricultural education nonprofit located in the Texas Hill Country. Our mission is to rescue, revive, and rehome farm animals in need while educating communities about humane, ethical, and sustainable farming practices.

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer and Research Specialist to work approximately 20 hours per week identifying funding opportunities and writing compelling grant applications that support animal rescue, education programs, and capital campaigns.

This role requires excellent written English and proven experience writing successful grants.

Responsibilities

• Research foundations, corporations, and grant opportunities aligned with our mission
• Maintain a database of grant opportunities and deadlines
• Write grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and applications
• Assist with capital campaign and program funding proposals
• Gather statistics and impact data to support applications
• Track submitted grants and reporting deadlines
• Assist with donor and foundation research for future funding prospects
• Edit and refine written materials for clarity and impact

Requirements

• Proven experience writing grants for nonprofits or foundations
• Exceptional written English skills (this is critical)
• Strong research ability
• Ability to write clearly, persuasively, and creatively
• Organized and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Experience with nonprofit fundraising or development preferred

Bonus Experience

• Experience writing grants for animal welfare, education, agriculture, or environmental organizations
• Experience with capital campaign funding
• Familiarity with US-based foundations and philanthropic giving
