About Us
We design and build steel-framed decks and outdoor living spaces for residential clients across the U.S. Our team moves quickly, values craftsmanship, and depends on clear, reliable communication. We’re looking for a remote Drafting Assistant who can take rough sketches, photos, or engineer notes and turn them into accurate, permit-ready drawings with minimal oversight.

Role Overview
This is a remote, full-time drafting position working directly with our lead designer in Chief Architect. You’ll be responsible for producing clear, buildable drawings and supporting a fast-paced design and construction workflow.

Key Responsibilities:
-Produce permit-ready drawings (site plans, layouts, elevations, sections, details, title blocks)
-Create fast concept drawings for client presentations and sales layouts
-Build 3D models and camera views for clients, plan review, and fabrication
-Translate structural and engineering notes into buildable drawings (steel and wood)
-Implement redlines from PDFs, photos, or sketches with accurate revision tracking
-Generate material takeoffs and square-foot calculations

Required Qualifications:
-Strong experience with U.S. residential construction, especially decks and outdoor structures
-Fully proficient in Chief Architect (this is our primary and required software)
-Ability to work fully remote and independently within our drafting system
-Solid understanding of wood framing, composite decking, steel connections, and deck code requirements
-Ability to produce clear construction details (including cross-sections) that crews can build from
-Strong organizational skills with version control and revision workflows
-Clear and reliable English communication (verbal and written)
-Stable, high-quality internet connection for consistent collaboration
-Proficiency in U.S. customary units (feet and inches)

-PDFs (permit-ready and presentation)
-Editable Chief Architect files
-DWG/DXF exports
-3D views and renderings

-Detail-oriented and solutions-focused
-Comfortable working with minimal supervision
-Communicates clearly and consistently with tea ---------- mbers, engineers, and fabricators
-Able to meet fast turnaround times without sacrificing accuracy
-Proactively ensures files are organized and accessible for team collaboration

Important Considerations:
-You must be able to clearly explain how you share working files and collaborate on editable drawings (e.g., cloud sharing, file handoff process, version control)
-Your portfolio should demonstrate relevant project experience, including at least one deck/outdoor structure and a cross-section drawing
