About Us
Encore Pacific Brands is a growing e-commerce company that acquires and operates consumer
brands on Amazon, TikTok Shop and Shopify. We are a small, nimble team that values
ownership, resourcefulness, and clear communication. We’re looking for someone who can take
full ownership of our bookkeeping and accounting function and grow with us as we scale.
Role Overview
We’re hiring a detail-oriented Senior Accountant & Financial Advisor to manage our day-to-day
financial operations across multiple brands and sales channels. You’ll be the person who keeps
our books clean, our COGS accurate, and our financial picture clear. This role touches
everything from transaction reconciliation and bank account management to supplier payment
coordination and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Reconciliation
• Manage and maintain our books in QuickBooks Online, including chart of accounts,
journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly close processes.
• Pull and reconcile transaction data from multiple sources: Amazon Seller Central, TikTok
Shop, Shopify, and any future sales channels.
• Download, categorize, and reconcile credit card statements from Chase, Capital One,
and American Express.
• Ensure all transactions are accurately coded and recorded on a timely basis.
COGS Management & Updates
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) across all products
whenever new inventory batches arrive.
• Update COGS figures across our internal SKU master spreadsheet, QuickBooks, and all
other reporting systems and tools so that margins and profitability data remain consistent
everywhere.
• Flag significant COGS changes and communicate the impact on gross margins to
leadership.
Supplier Payments & Wire Transfers
• Review, track, and file all invoices, payments, and shipping documents. (We work with
25+ suppliers, 1,000+ SKUs, and 50+ shipments per year.)
• Plan, prepare, and set up outgoing wire transfers to suppliers in our Chase business
account for the CEO to review and approve.
• Maintain a payment calendar and ensure suppliers are paid on time per agreed terms.
• Keep organized records of all supplier invoices, payment confirmations, and banking
documentation.
Reporting & Analysis
• Generate regular financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash
flow summaries for each brand.
• Support ad-hoc financial analyses as needed, such as profitability by product line,
channel-level performance, or cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist with preparing financial data for tax filings and work with our external CPA as
needed.
Typical Questions You Will Find the Answer To
• What is the current profitability of each brand in our portfolio?
• What is our profitability at a SKU level? Which products are dragging down margins?
• How much did we spend on shipping and freight in the last quarter, and how does that
compare to the prior period?
• What are our landed COGS for this new batch, and how does it change our margin on
these SKUs?
• How much cash do we need to set aside for upcoming supplier wires over the next
30/60/90 days?
• What is the inventory value across Amazon FBA, third-party warehouses, and in-transit
shipments?
• What does leadership need from this financial data to make a sound decision, and how
can I present it in the clearest way possible?
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online – this is our primary accounting platform and
you should be very comfortable navigating it.
