JOB OVERVIEW

We are looking for a video editor ASAP for a YouTube channel about global disasters, strange history, and mystery topics. We make long-form videos about earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, geological events, ancient discoveries, DNA mysteries, and historical investigations.

We are NOT looking for "AI Video" or "Text-to-Video" creators.

We are looking for a Traditional Video Editor who can tell a visual story using real clips, real news footage, documentaries, interviews, maps, and strong visual pacing following the script.

What You Will Do:
-Follow the Script: We provide script + direction, tools.
-Source Real Clips: You must find real footage from news, documentaries, interviews, archive footage, and public sources. This is the most important part. MUST AVOID RANDOM STOCK FOOTAGE AND AI.
-Edit Fast: Keep the video moving. No dry or boring sections. Good Pacing, Keep Viewer engaged. Use background music when/if necessary.

What We Do NOT Want:
-NO AI Video: Do not use AI generators.
-NO Random Stock Footage: If the script talks about a real event, scientist, location, or disaster, show the real thing.

HUGE PLUS: Can also do the Thumbnails (not a requirement but a huge plus)

Style: Documentary / breaking-news style editing with strong pacing.

You must be able to:
-Deliver 4 videos per week
-Work independently once workflow is understood
-Communicate well & meet deadlines.

How To Apply:

-Send 1 video you edited that best matches this style
-Answer this question: If the script says "show real tsunami footage from Japan" or "scientist speaking about DNA testing," where would you search first?

Please expect a 1-2 min sample test request (Script & VO provided).

Will start off with 5 video test and then move to salary.
