SEO STRATEGIST
The SEO Strategist is responsible for owning and executing comprehensive SEO strategies across their assigned portfolio of clients. This includes analyzing performance, creating actionable roadmaps, managing content and optimization planning, and resolving client-specific SEO issues. Strategists play a critical cross-functional role in ensuring SEO is aligned with the broader goals of client success, advertising, content, and technical performance.

This role requires strong analytical skills, independent initiative, and the ability to collaborate across departments to drive consistent organic growth. This role requires working US business hours.


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic SEO Execution
Create and maintain tailored SEO roadmaps aligned with client business goals and site performance.
Analyze metrics using internal tools and manual review to generate monthly SEO Strategy & Performance Reviews.
Recommend and plan actionable improvements to content, optimization, links, or site structure based on performance.
Track and update performance metrics and client status in the strategy scorecard.

2. Support Ticket Triage & Client Issue Resolution
Monitor and respond to SEO-related support tickets from Client Strategy and other teams.
Conduct root-cause analysis and prepare a resolution plan or delegate tasks to relevant internal tea ---------- mbers.

3. Link Planning & GBP Management
Plan and oversee monthly backlink strategy per client, ensuring diversity, quality, and alignment with budget
Perform monthly GBP audits for each client and monitor lead performance; if leads drop, use this as a trigger for GBP optimization.

4. Content & Optimization Planning
Develop 6-month-long content & optimization plans in alignment with SEO goals.

5. GEO & AI-Driven Innovation
Leverage Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) best practices to increase visibility in AI-generated search experiences (e.g., Google SGE, Bing Copilot).
Identify and implement on-page changes or structural content improvements to enhance performance in emerging SERP formats.

6. Cross-Team Collaboration
Collaborate closely with:
Content: for page updates and optimization execution.
Client Strategy: to stay synced on client goals, concerns, or shifting priorities.
Web Team: for technical SEO execution: report site speed, crawl/indexing, schema, or UX issues.

7. Team Support & Peer Reviews
Perform quality reviews for peer strategists.
Provide feedback on quality, roadmap recommendations, or planning assumptions.
Participate in 1:1s or team check-ins to identify areas for improvement or share solutions.
