About the Role
We are hiring an Amazon Operations & Profit Growth Manager to take ownership of Amazon marketplace profitability and operational health.
This role acts as the commercial owner of Amazon performance, ensuring revenue growth translates into sustainable profit.
You will oversee pricing strategy, unit economics, inventory efficiency, supplier costing, and margin optimization while working alongside a dedicated PPC specialist responsible for advertising execution.
Success in this role comes from understanding Amazon as a financial system, not just a marketplace.
Responsibilities:
Amazon P&L Ownership & Profit Management
- Own Amazon channel profitability and contribution margin performance
- Analyze full Amazon P&L including fees, logistics costs, returns, and operational expenses
- Identify profit leakage across SKUs and operations
- Build financial visibility across revenue, cost, and margin drivers
- Recommend actions based on financial impact, not vanity metrics
- Costing, Pricing & Unit Economics
Develop and manage SKU-level costing models
- Optimize pricing strategies based on margin targets and competitive positioning
- Evaluate landed costs including manufacturing, freight, storage, and fulfillment
- Improve contribution margin through pricing and cost optimization
- Partner with leadership to ensure sustainable profit growth
Supplier & Cost Optimization
- Manage supplier relationships and commercial negotiations
- Reduce product COGS through pricing negotiation and sourcing improvements
- Evaluate alternative suppliers when necessary
- Improve payment terms and purchasing efficiency
- Optimize packaging, freight, and storage costs
Inventory Management & Forecasting
- Forecast inventory based on sales velocity and seasonality
- Prevent stockouts that negatively impact ranking and revenue
- Maintain healthy sell-through and inventory turnover
- Reduce excess inventory and long-term storage exposure
- Balance inventory investment with cash flow efficiency
Reimbursements & Profit Recovery
- Audit lost, damaged, or miscounted FBA inventory
- Identify fee discrepancies and reimbursement opportunities
- File and track reimbursement claims
- Establish systems to prevent recurring operational losses
- Operational Performance Optimization
Monitor backend Amazon fees and operational expenses
- Identify underperforming SKUs draining margin
- Analyze return rates and operational inefficiencies
- Improve operational workflows impacting profitability
- Partner closely with PPC and marketing teams to align operational decisions with growth
New Product Financial Validation
- Evaluate new product opportunities based on profitability potential
- Analyze demand, competition, pricing, and margin feasibility
- Validate unit economics prior to launch
- Ensure new launches support profit expansion — not just revenue growth
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with PPC, sourcing, logistics, and leadership teams
- Communicate financial insights clearly and proactively
- Escalate operational risks early with recommended solutions
- Align teams around profitability and sustainable growth
Essential skills and qualifications:
- 4–6+ years managing Amazon Seller Central operations
- Strong experience owning or analyzing Amazon P&L
- Deep understanding of:

- Proven experience improving profitability through costing or pricing decisions

- Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills
