JOB OVERVIEW

Company Overview

Hard Fork Distillery is pioneering the intersection of traditional whiskey craftsmanship and
blockchain governance. We're building a first-of-its-kind platform on Stacks blockchain that
enables token holders to participate in real whiskey barrel management decisions through
decentralized governance, secured by Bitcoin.

Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced blockchain developer to architect and build our core smart contract
infrastructure from the ground up. As our first technical hire, you'll be the technical authority
responsible for translating our governance vision into secure, auditable smart contracts on the
Stacks blockchain using Clarity.

Location: Remote
Reports to: Founder/CEO
Compensation: Salary + equity/token allocation
Timeline: Immediate hire for 6-month initial contract with strong potential for full-time
conversion

Core Responsibilities
Smart Contract Architecture & Development (60%)
• Design and implement governance token contracts using SIP-010 standards
• Build barrel NFT system with metadata for tracking and provenance
• Develop DAO voting mechanisms for barrel disposition decisions
• Create treasury management contracts for token holder rewards
• Implement batch-based production workflows mirroring distillery operations
• Ensure Bitcoin settlement integration through Stacks Proof of Transfer

Security & Quality Assurance (20%)
• Write comprehensive test suites for all smart contract functionality
• Collaborate with Smart Contract Auditor (hired Month 2) to address security findings
• Implement best practices for upgradeability and emergency procedures
• Document security assumptions and trust boundaries

Integration & Deployment (15%)
• Prepare contracts for DEX integration (ALEX platform)
• Coordinate testnet and mainnet deployment sequences
• Build developer tools and scripts for contract interaction
• Support front-end integration needs (when UI development begins)

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer (5%)
• Create technical documentation for audit and community review
• Mentor Junior Blockchain Developer (hired Month 2-3)
• Provide regular progress updates to CEO and Community Manager
• Document architectural decisions and rationale

Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
• 3+ years professional blockchain development experience
• Deep understanding of smart contract security principles and common vulnerabilities
• Strong programming fundamentals (any language; Clarity can be learned)
• Experience with token standards (ERC-20/721 or equivalent)
• Understanding of DAO governance mechanisms and voting systems
• Git proficiency and collaborative development practices

Blockchain-Specific
• Experience with at least one of: Stacks/Clarity, Ethereum/Solidity, or other smart
contract platforms
• Understanding of UTXO vs account-based blockchain models
• Familiarity with Bitcoin and Proof of Work principles (Stacks/Bitcoin experience
strongly preferred)
• Knowledge of decentralized exchange mechanics

Professional
• Self-directed with ability to work independently in early-stage startup environment
• Strong written communication skills for technical documentation
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Experience working with non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience with Stacks blockchain and Clarity language
• Background in DeFi or DAO projects
• Experience with audit processes and security reviews
• Contribution to open-source blockchain projects
• Understanding of distillery operations or supply chain tracking (nice to have)

Success Metrics - First 6 Months
Month 1
• Complete Stacks/Clarity environment setup and tooling
• Architecture design document approved
• Initial governance token contract (testnet deployment)

Month 2
• Barrel NFT contract complete (testnet)
• Basic voting mechanism implemented
• First round of internal testing complete
• Smart Contract Auditor onboarded with preliminary code review

Month 3
• Treasury and reward distribution contracts complete
• Integration test suite passing
• Junior Developer hired and initial onboarding complete
• Community Manager has technical documentation for pre-sale materials

Month 4
• All major security audit findings addressed
• DEX integration specifications complete
• Testnet deployment fully functional with all features

Month 5
• Final audit approval received
• Mainnet deployment preparation complete
• Junior Developer contributing independently to codebase

Month 6
• Mainnet deployment successful
• Token trading live on DEX
• First governance vote executed on-chain
• Documentation complete for ongoing development
