Position Overview
We are seeking an Expert Medical Billing Manager with deep behavioral health experience to oversee full end-to-end revenue cycle operations and lead a team of billers. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, fluent in professional English communication, and has a proven track record of improving collections, reducing denials, and managing high-performing billing teams. We are also in the process of building an offshore billing team and are looking for a leader who can help spearhead recruitment, training, workflow development, and ongoing management to ensure high performance and quality standards across a distributed workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the complete revenue cycle from intake through final payment, including charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, AR follow-up, and appeals
Lead, train, and supervise a team of medical billers to ensure accuracy, productivity, and accountability
Monitor key performance metrics (AR days, denial rates, clean claim rate, collections, aging reports)
Resolve complex billing issues, denials, and payer disputes
Ensure compliance with payer policies, coding standards, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate credentialing and payer enrollment activities as needed
Develop, document, and improve billing workflows and SOPs
Communicate professionally with clients, payers, and internal leadership
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of behavioral health billing rules and changes
Required Experience
5+ years of medical billing experience (behavioral health strongly preferred)
Proven experience managing the full end-to-end revenue cycle
2+ years in a supervisory or management role overseeing billing staff
Extensive experience with commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding relevant to behavioral health
Experience with IOP, PHP, outpatient mental health, or substance use treatment billing
Demonstrated success in denial management and appeals
Experience with prior authorizations and payer communications
Proficiency with billing software and EHR systems
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
