JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Video Editor specializing in short-form content and long-form YouTube videos to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate has proven experience producing engaging vertical videos for social media as well as polished horizontal content for YouTube.

This role requires someone who can consistently deliver high quality short-form videos while also editing of longer YouTube videos as needed, maintaining brand voice, storytelling quality, and visual consistency across all formats.

Key Responsibilities

Edit and produce short-form videos daily (15–60 seconds) for reels/shorts

Edit horizontal long-form YouTube videos including talking head, podcast-style, or vlog content

Transform raw footage into engaging content optimized for both vertical and horizontal viewing

Add captions, motion graphics, sound effects, music, and visual enhancements

Implement hook-driven openings within the first few seconds and retention-focused editing styles

Structure long-form videos with pacing, cuts, and storytelling that maintain viewer engagement

Maintain brand consistency across all video content

Collaborate with the content/marketing team to align with campaign goals

Organize and manage project files efficiently

Stay up to date with editing trends and platform best practices

Required Qualifications

Proven experience editing short-form social media content and long-form YouTube videos

Strong understanding of viral content structure and audience retention techniques

Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar)

Experience creating captions, jump cuts, zoom effects, and motion overlays

Ability to meet daily production targets and deadlines

Strong storytelling, pacing, and editing judgment

Reliable communication and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with creators, personal brands, or marketing teams

Motion graphics or animation skills

Basic color grading and audio optimization knowledge

Familiarity with YouTube optimization and audience retention metrics
