JOB OVERVIEW

US Law Attorney – In-House General Counsel

Full-Time | Remote | Real Estate Investment Firm

We are a growing U.S.-based real estate investment firm acquiring and operating multifamily and value-add residential assets. We are seeking a licensed U.S. attorney to serve as In-House General Counsel and provide ongoing legal oversight as we scale.

This is not a clerical role. We are looking for a strategic legal partner who can think like an operator and help us move fast without breaking things.

About the Company

We acquire, operate, and reposition residential real estate assets across the U.S. Our team is entrepreneurial, analytical, and execution-focused. We are building a long-term portfolio and want legal infrastructure that supports disciplined growth.

You will serve as the firm’s primary legal advisor across transactions, operations, and corporate structure.

Key Responsibilities

Review and draft Purchase & Sale Agreements (PSAs)
Review loan documents, guaranties, and lender agreements
Assist with due diligence and risk analysis
Coordinate with local counsel as needed
Structure JV agreements and investor documents

Corporate & Structuring

Entity formation and restructuring (LLCs, S-Corps, HoldCos)
Draft operating agreements
Investor subscription agreements
Compliance oversight

Risk Management & Compliance

Evaluate liability exposure
Review property management agreements
Advise on landlord-tenant matters (CA preferred)
Contract review across vendors and partners

Strategic Advisory

Serve as a thought partner to ownership
Provide practical, business-minded legal advice
Help create scalable legal systems and documentation templates

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in real estate law
Experience with commercial or multifamily transactions
Strong contract drafting skills
Clear, confident written English
Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with private equity real estate
Experience drafting JV agreement
CA real estate exposure
Prior in-house experience
