Job Description:
Combined Position Responsibilities (Business Development/Estimator). Market, sell, respond to Request for Quotes, establish long-term relationships and manage our services to the following potential groups/sectors:
1. Commercial Clients
o General contractors/builders
o Interior designers and decorators
o Property management companies, etc.
2. Construction/GCs & Professionals
o Architects
o Interior designers
o Remodeling contractors
o Real estate developers, etc.
3. New Construction & Renovations
o Check permit databases (many are public online)
o Contact small builders or general contractors
o Network at home shows, trade expos, or chamber of commerce events
4. Federal, Local Government & Community Projects
o Local municipalities (city buildings, libraries, etc.)
o Schools and universities
o Churches and religious institutions
o Nonprofit organizations renovating facilities
5. Residential Clients
o Homeowners (especially in aging homes)
o House flippers/investors
o Landlords/property managers of rental units
o Real estate agents (who prepare homes for sale)
o Airbnb/short-term rental owners
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have experience reading and interpreting blueprints in the US
• Must have at least 3 years of experience doing takeoffs
• Must have worked for US construction companies doing takeoffs and estimating
• Must be fairly familiar with pricing material in the US
• At least 2 years of using either BlueBeam Revu and/or Switfplan
• Must be able and willing to work during US business hours 9-6PM and weekends when required
• Must have a regular desktop/laptop with Windows operating system with strong internet connection.
• Must work from an office computer when required.
• Work on weekends, if necessary/when required.
• Maintain clear client communication and high job-site standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, architectural plans, and scopes of work.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies designed to increase sales and market share, sale goals levels, and brand awareness locally and regionally.
• Seek out and constantly bid for commercial and residential jobs.
• Provide expertise feedback to prospective customers.
• Provide a written report on the scope of work to the office and prepare accurate quotes for prospective customers.
• Negotiate pricing and contract terms in coordination with owner.
• Ensure all of our processes are of the highest standards and that we are in compliance with all government and clients' requirements.
• Maintain customer satisfaction by successfully managing the completion of projects on time.
• Ensure projects meet timelines, budget goals, and quality standards.
