Social Media Strategist + Video Editor
We are seeking a highly skilled Social Media Strategist and Video Editing Expert to support a fast-growing online education brand in the B2B trade show and marketing industry.
This is a project-based engagement with potential for future projects with me and/or referrals in my business groups also looking for the same needs.
We are not looking for a basic video cutter.
We are looking for a strategic content thinker who understands how to turn video into growth.
About the Brand:
- We provide online training and resources for marketing professionals who exhibit at trade shows in the United States. Our audience includes Marketing Directors, Managers, CMOs, and B2B event professionals.
- Our content is educational, strategic, and personality-driven. It must feel polished, smart, and confident — but not corporate or boring.
Core Responsibilities:
???? Video Editing & Content Repurposing
- Edit long-form videos (5–40 minutes) into:
- YouTube long form videos
- YouTube Shorts
- LinkedIn-native video
- Instagram Reels
- TikTok clips

- Add captions, transitions, B-roll, hooks, and platform-optimized formatting
- Ensure videos are structured for retention (strong first 3–5 seconds)
- Create short clips from long-form content
- Design simple branded thumbnails
- Format content for online training platforms
???? Social Media Strategy & Execution
You must understand platform nuances and strategy.
Platforms include:
- YouTube
- LinkedIn
- Instagram
- TikTok

You should be able to:
- Recommend posting cadence
- Suggest hook rewrites for higher retention
- Structure content differently per platform
- Optimize for watch time, engagement, and saves
- Recommend trends where appropriate (without being gimmicky)
- Develop caption strategy
- English proficient enough to engage via comments and DMs
- Suggest hashtag strategy
- Understand B2B positioning vs. B2C style content
???? Newsletter & Content Design (Bonus)
- Assist in formatting newsletter content
- Design visually clean
- Help repurpose social content into newsletter format
- Create simple graphics in Canva (preferred)
What a Strong Social Media Strategist Should Bring
We expect strategic thinking, including:
- Understanding audience personas
- Turning educational content into scroll-stopping hooks
- Analyzing what content formats drive saves, comments, and shares
- Structuring content for authority positioning
- Repurposing one long-form video into 5–10 assets
- Creating a consistent content system
????Required Qualifications:
- Fluent English (spoken and written) - Applicants will be tested prior to hiring.
- Strong video editing skills (please provide portfolio)
- Demonstrated experience managing social media growth
- Knowledge of YouTube optimization (titles, descriptions, thumbnails)
- Experience with Instagram Reels and TikTok formatting
- Familiarity with LinkedIn content positioning
- Ability to think strategically — not just execute instructions
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working with B2B brands
- Knowledge of the trade show / event industry
- Experience with online course platforms
- Experience with Canva
- Experience building content systems
