We’re hiring a Lead UI/UX Designer for a luxury lab-grown diamond e-commerce platform competing with Blue Nile and Brilliant Earth.
This is an intensive 8-week sprint (immediate start), plus an optional lightweight retainer during development for QA check-ins and sign-offs.
What you will own in 8 weeks
-Competitive UX audit (James Allen, Blue Nile, Brilliant Earth, Tiffany, GIA)
-Mobile-first strategy and information architecture (80%+ mobile audience)
-Full design system from scratch: typography, color (WCAG AA), spacing, grid
-Exhaustive component library with all states (buttons, cards, forms, modals, nav, filters, loading/empty states, etc.)
-25–30+ high-fidelity screens across desktop + mobile
-Developer handoff: annotated Figma, TailwindCSS-mapped specs, assets, component docs, breakpoints, prototypes

Must-have requirements
-5+ years UI/UX experience
-Portfolio with 2–3 luxury/premium e-commerce examples
-Experience designing configurators or complex multi-step flows
-Expert in Figma (non-negotiable)
-Deep design systems experience
-Familiar with TailwindCSS / utility-first CSS workflows
-Mobile-first mindset + WCAG AA awareness
-Can start within 1 week
-US timezone overlap required
