Role Description

We are seeking a technically strong Intermediate Accountant to join our team in a full-time contractor capacity (38 hours per week).

This role plays an active part in delivering our accounting function to our clients. You will guide our bookkeeping team and support our Client Managers to deliver high quality and timely work for our clients.

Key responsibilities include:

Bookkeeping transaction validation and responding to your teams queries
Running the End of Month close for your clients and team
Reconciling the Balance sheet and key accounts according to our internal procedures and work methods
Accounts payable management
Financial and management reporting preparation
Completing BAS, and payroll tax processing and lodgments
Preparing year end return lodgments for review
This position requires availability from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST, with the ability to commence within 2 weeks. This is an exclusive contractor engagement (no other employment permitted). Contractors must provide their own computer and dedicated workspace.

Qualifications

3+ years’ experience within Australian public practice
Latest Xero certification (mandatory)
High attention to detail and a structured work approach
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to take ownership and operate with minimal supervision
Experience with inventory systems, payroll, and multi-entity environments will be highly regarded.
