About the Role
We are looking for an IT Systems Administrator / Infrastructure Technician to own, stabilise, document, and secure our IT infrastructure across servers, networks, databases, and internal systems.
You will be responsible not only for maintenance but for establishing proper IT policies, procedures, backups, and security standards so the business has order, repeatability, and resilience. You will work remotely from the Philippines with partial overlap with Australian business hours.
Core Responsibilities
• Infrastructure & server management — Manage Windows and Linux servers; maintain VPSs, VMs, and hosted services;
monitor uptime, performance, and storage; patch management and system updates; manage domains, DNS, and SSL
certificates.
• Network & systems administration — Network configuration and troubleshooting; firewall rules and access control; VPNs
and secure remote access; general network health and reliability.
• Database maintenance — SQL Server / MySQL / PostgreSQL administration; backup, restore, and integrity checks;
storage and performance monitoring; coordinate with developers when database issues arise.
• Backup, data management & disaster recovery — Design and implement local and off-site backups and redundancy;
regularly test restores; define data retention policies; ensure backups are encrypted, verifiable, and documented.
• Security & data protection — Implement and maintain security best practices; user access and permission control;
credential and secret management; firewall and intrusion-prevention basics; logging, alerting, and i
procedures.
• IT policies, procedures & documentation — Create (not just follow) IT policies (access, backups, updates, security),
system procedures and runbooks, server and network documentation, disaster recovery playbooks, and asset/system
inventories.
• Internal IT support — Support staff with computer/OS issues, software troubleshooting, system access, and device
setup; coordinate with external vendors when required.
Requirements
• 5+ years in a similar IT systems / infrastructure role with hands-on responsibility for production systems.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration and networking (firewalls, VPNs, access control).
• Proven experience with backup and disaster recovery design and execution, including testing restores.
• Experience creating IT policies, procedures, runbooks, or similar documentation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
• Clear written English for documentation and communication.

• 3CX or other VoIP systems
• ASP.NET hosting on IIS
• API configuration and troubleshooting
• LLM-related infrastructure (local LLMs, RAG, vector DBs)
