The ONLINE NURSING INSTRUCTOR for the Practical Nursing Course plays an essential role in delivering structured, high-quality online instruction to PN students. The instructor ensures that students gain the foundational knowledge required for nursing practice while maintaining academic standards and compliance with state and institutional requirements. The instructor will utilize FA Davis, Elsevier, and Populi LMS to deliver lessons, assessments, and student support.
This is a part-time position that requires up to 10 hours per week, depending on the management approval and teaching load. Your permanent Shift will be during the Eastern Standard Time.
Position Summary:

Initial Employment Status: Probationary, Part-Time
Reporting To: Program Director (PN)
Start Date: 1 week after signing the Offer Letter
Work Schedule: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Rendering Hours: up to 10 hours per week (depending on the management approval)
Compensation (Monthly): 3, 400pesos (if still 85 pesos per hour)
Responsibilities of Online Nursing Instructor
The Online Nursing Instructor for the Practical Nursing Program at Heritage Career Institute plays an essential role in delivering high-quality online education using FA Davis, Elsevier, and LMS Populi. This role is responsible for teaching PN coursework in a fully virtual environment, facilitating student learning through structured online modules, and ensuring that all instructional content aligns with curriculum and accreditation standards. The Instructor manages online lectures, coursework, assessments, grading timelines, and student academic support while maintaining accurate records within Populi. This includes guiding students through digital resources, monitoring participation, identifying at-risk learners, and providing timely feedback to promote academic success. The Instructor also collaborates with the Program Director to maintain course consistency, improve instructional materials, and support audit and compliance requirements through proper documentation.

ONLINE NURSING INSTRUCTOR
Reports to: Program Director
Collaborates with: Operations, Admissions and Registrar
Primary Focus: Online Delivery of Instruction, Academic Part ONLY
Key Responsibilities:
Online Instruction & Course Management:
Teach Practical Nursing (PN) subjects through fully online instruction using FA Davis, Elsevier, and LMS Populi Facilitate virtual lectures, discussions, and interactive learning activities aligned with PN curriculum standards
Upload, organize course materials follow institutional and accreditation guidelines
Provide clear, constructive, and timely feedback to support student learning and progression Maintain active online engagement and consistent communication with students throughout the course
Student Support & Engagement:
Assist PN students in understanding course concepts and navigating online resources
Respond promptly to student inquiries via
Monitor academic progress, attendance, and participation to identify at-risk students
Compliance & Documentation:
Maintain complete and updated gradebooks, attendance logs, and academic records in LMS Populi Ensure instructional activities meet state, institutional, and accreditation requirements
Submit syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment documentation for audits and program review
Adhere to FERPA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of all student information
Participate in mandatory virtual meetings, orientation sessions, and required training
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Coordinate with the Program Director to update teaching materials, curriculum alignment, and lesson plans
Support curriculum enhancement and assist in integrating improved instructional approaches
Participate in faculty development, evaluations, and continuing education
Provide input to improve online teaching delivery, student experience, and overall program quality
Qualifications:
Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with an active, unencumbered Florida RN license (passed the NCLEX-FL)
Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in nursing
Prior teaching or preceptorship experience is highly preferred
Familiarity with FA Davis, Elsevier, and LMS Populi or similar learning platforms
Strong knowledge of Practical Nursing curriculum and current nursing practices
Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach, and support students in an online setting
Strong technical proficiency in managing virtual classrooms, and navigating digital content
Ability to provide timely feedback, manage deadlines, and maintain accurate academic records
Detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote teaching environment
Must demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and adherence to academic standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general administrative tools.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work during AM EST hours without any conflicting schedule
Must NOT engage in any other employment, consulting, or business activity (whether full-time or part-time) that may create a conflict of interest with the Institution.
