Front-End Designer – Full-Time | Remote

Location: Philippines
Type: Full-time (Mon – Fri, Western Australian business hours, UTC +8)
Reporting to: Head of XR & Web Development
Collaborates with: Head of Development, Front-End Developers, Project Managers

Role Overview

3D Walkabout is seeking a Front-End Designer with a strong eye for UI detail and hands-on experience implementing designs in modern web applications.

This role is ideal for someone who sits at the intersection of UI design and front-end implementation. You should understand layout, spacing, typography, and usability, and be comfortable translating designs into clean, responsive interfaces.

You will work closely with a senior developer based in Australia to help shape and deliver dashboards, internal tools, and client-facing web applications used in real production environments.

Tools & Technologies

Essential
- Figma
- HTML5 / CSS3
- Strong understanding of modern UI design principles (spacing, typography, hierarchy)
- Ability to implement UI in React-based projects
- Git / GitHub
- Responsive and cross-browser design

Preferred
- Tailwind CSS or utility-first CSS workflows
- Component-based UI systems
- Experience designing dashboards or data-heavy interfaces
- Basic understanding of JavaScript and React concepts
- Accessibility fundamentals (semantic HTML, contrast, keyboard navigation)

Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Next.js familiarity
- Design systems or design token experience
- shadcn/ui or similar component libraries
- Experience working closely with backend developers

What You’ll Be Doing

UI Design & Implementation
- Design clean, usable interfaces for web applications
- Translate Figma designs into responsive, production-ready UI
- Refine layouts, spacing, and visual hierarchy for clarity and usability
- Build and maintain reusable UI components
- Ensure visual consistency across pages, features, and states

Collaboration & Workflow
- Work closely with a senior developer to plan and implement UI features
- Review UI quality and suggest practical improvements
- Participate in feedback and iteration cycles
- Communicate clearly about design intent and implementation constraints

Quality & Polish
- Identify UI issues early and propose solutions
- Ensure designs scale across screen sizes and use cases
- Balance visual quality with performance and maintainability

- 2–4 years experience in front-end design or UI-focused roles
- Strong attention to detail and visual consistency
- Comfortable working from Figma into real codebases
- Able to work independently in a remote environment
- Clear communicator who collaborates well with developers
- Takes pride in shipping clean, polished UI
