JOB OVERVIEW

Hi! I'm Kat, a Filipino-American entrepreneur based in Maryland, but born and raised in the Philippines. I run a US-based company that is entirely Filipino — from our leadership to every single VA on our team. Many have been with us for years

Now I’m hiring a dedicated, full-time Short Form Video Editor & Social Media Manager to help us grow our brand. This is a PERMANENT, LONG-TERM position — not a one-off project. WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your main job is to turn my raw talking-head videos into scroll-stopping short-form content that grows our audience and generates leads. Specifically:

• Edit 15–20 short-form videos per week from raw batch footage (Instagram Reels, TikTok, LinkedIn)
• Create scroll-stopping hooks in the first 1–2 seconds with pattern interrupts, zooms, and text pops
• Add text overlays, captions, trending audio, and B-roll at strategic ---------- nts to maximize watch time
• A/B test different hooks on the same content — we want TWO versions of every key video
• Track performance data and recommend iterations based on what’s actually working
• Schedule content, manage posting calendar, and write captions with strategic CTAs
• Repurpose content across platforms (same video, different edits for IG vs. TikTok vs. LinkedIn)
• Manage community engagement — respond to comments, flag important DMs, build relationships

YOU MUST HAVE

• A portfolio showing social media accounts you’ve edited that actually GREW (show before/after follower counts or engagement metrics — this is non-negotiable)
• Proven experience editing short-form vertical video (Reels/TikTok, NOT wedding videos or YouTube longform)
• CapCut and Descript proficiency
• Canva Pro skills for thumbnails and carousels
• Excellent English for captions, text overlays, and community management
• Understanding of retention editing: jump cuts every 2–3 seconds, pattern interrupts, pacing
• Reliable internet connection and your own computer/laptop with editing capability
• Minimum 4-hour daily overlap with US Eastern Time (overlap 10AM to 2PM EST )

BONUS POINTS (NOT REQUIRED, BUT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT)

• You can name 3 creators you study (Codie Sanchez, Dan Martell, Hormozi, etc.) and explain what makes their editing work
• Experience editing for B2B brands or professional services (not just lifestyle/vlog content)
• Experience with ManyChat or GoHighLevel
• You watch content from Dan Iles (Viral Coach) or similar and understand retention editing principles
• You’ve grown your OWN social media account using these editing techniques

THE DETAILS

• Position: Full-time, permanent (this is a long-term role, not freelance or project-based)
• Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday
• Salary: $800 – $1,400 USD/month depending on experience and portfolio quality
• Payment: Bi-monthly via Wise (1st and 15th)
• Time Tracking: Hubstaff
• Tools Provided: Canva Pro/Descript/Opus Clip/ access, scheduling platform access, Google Drive for raw footage
• Start Date: ASAP — paid edit test required before final hiring decision
• Growth: Top performers earn rate increases.
