JOB OVERVIEW

About Us:

We’re a fast-growing construction/home improvement brand based in the U.S. We create consistent video content for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, and YouTube. We need a reliable, skilled editor who can take ownership of editing and help us scale output without losing quality.

What You’ll Edit -
* Short-form: TikTok / IG Reels / YouTube Shorts (15–60 seconds)
* YouTube: 5–12 minute videos (optional if you’re stronger in short-form)
* Talking-head + b-roll, jobsite footage, before/after, educational content

Responsibilities
* Edit short-form videos with strong pacing, hook, and retention
* Add captions (clean, readable), emojis only when it fits, and on-screen callouts
* Sound design: music, SFX, clean voice audio, remove background noise
* Basic color correction + consistent “look”
* Add b-roll, zooms, cuts, and motion elements to keep attention
* Create multiple versions of the same video (different hooks/first 2 seconds)
* Organize project files, naming conventions, and export settings
* Follow a brand style guide (we’ll provide examples)
* Hit deadlines and communicate clearly

Must-Have Skills
* Proven short-form editing experience (retention-focused)
* Strong sense of pacing, storytelling, and hooks
* Clean captions + modern social style editing
* Can follow instructions AND bring creative ideas
* Reliable internet + strong communication
* Comfortable with feedback and quick revisions

Nice-to-Have
* Motion graphics (basic AE templates okay)
* Thumbnail design (YouTube)
* Experience with construction/real estate/home service content
* Knows how to repurpose long-form into short clips

Output Expectations (Example)
* Weekly: 10–20 short-form videos (depending on complexity)
* Turnaround: 24–48 hours per batch after receiving footage
* Revisions: usually 1–2 rounds max when done right
