The Role: We are looking for a skilled video editor to become a long-term partner for Joel Perna (Founder of Slouch Potato & RiseWise). Joel is an experienced operator, not a generic "coach".
We need someone who can take raw iPhone footage and turn it into premium, authoritative, and kinetic Reels/Shorts/TikToks. You are not just editing; you are polishing the brand identity.
The Vibe & Examples
We want to emulate the "Systems Thinking" and clean aesthetic of creators like Matt Gray, but with our specific brand personality (Premium but Personable).
Please review these 3 specific examples of the Matt Gray style we love:
1. The "Systems" Visual (Reference: "Building Systems")
* Link:
* What we love: The text isn't just a subtitle; it’s a list/diagram. Notice how he creates a clean visual hierarchy. When he talks about a "System," the steps appear clearly on screen.
* Why we want this: It forces the viewer to treat the video like a mini-course rather than just entertainment. It builds immediate authority.?
2. The "Value-Dense" Structure (Reference: "High Leverage")
* Link:
* What we love: The clean text animations that support the "Mental Models." The video uses simple but premium stock/B-roll that perfectly matches the context of what is being said, overlaid with sharp, easy-to-read typography.
* Why we want this: It feels "Premium." The text pops up exactly on the beat, and the visual variety keeps retention high without using "cringe" sound effects or chaotic editing.?
3. The "Sales Machine" Polish (Reference: "Content to Revenue")
* Link:
* What we love: The clean cuts and "Sales Machine" visualization. The editing is sharp—no wasted seconds. The B-roll supports the "Business/Operator" aesthetic (laptops, systems, work) rather than generic lifestyle fluff.
* Why we want this: It anchors the brand in reality. It looks like a high-end business breakdown, not a cheap influencer vlog.??
Brand Guidelines & Briefing
You must adhere to these technical specifications found in our Strategy Deck.
1. The "Golden Rule"
* Vibe: "Premium but Fun." Think: A Facetime call with your smartest friend who runs a massive clothing brand.?
* Editing Style: "Native" cuts. Do not over-stabilize or warp the footage. Keep it feeling real (Lo-Fi Luxury).?
* Audio: Crisp voice audio is non-negotiable. Music should be background (-25db), voice at (-3db). No cringe airhorns or "hype" sound effects.?
2. Visual Hierarchy (Fonts & Colors)
* Headlines (The Hook): League Spartan (Bold/Extra Bold). All Caps. Tight spacing (-20).?
* Subtitles: Glacial Indifference (Bold). Sentence case. White text with a "Lift" shadow effect.?
* Accents (Notes/Arrows): Permanent Marker or Gochi Hand.?
* ?Primary Brand Green: #5da77f (Used for key numbers/metrics).?
* Backgrounds: #1f3d1d (Deep Green) or #121212 (Onyx Black). Never use pure #000000 black.?
3. The Content "Buckets" You will be editing three types of videos:
* The Authority (Advice): Talking head + B-Roll of Joel working + On-screen diagrams (Matt Gray style).
* The Relevance (Reactions): Green screen split-screen reacting to news/trends.
* The Proof (Client Wins): Breakdowns of client results using screenshots/iPad recordings.
AI and Stock Footage Policy
We encourage the use of tools that speed up your workflow, provided the output remains premium and realistic.
* ?Stock Footage: We prefer B-roll from Joel’s actual camera roll (warehouse, laptop, lifestyle). However, you may use premium stock (
* ?Allowed Tags: "Fashion Design," "Street Texture," "Warehouse Logistics".?
* ?Banned: Generic "Corporate" stock (e.g., men in blue suits shaking hands, 3D gold coins).?
* AI Imagery/Video: Allowed only if it is not noticeably disjointed, warped, or obviously "fake." It must blend seamlessly with the "Lo-Fi Luxury" grain of the iPhone footage.??
How to Apply
