We at Alignment Architects Inc. are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Design Associate to join our architectural and design firm. In this role, you will take a leadership position in the design department, overseeing drafting, coordinating workflows, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality architectural projects. This position is essential in driving design excellence, maintaining compliance, and supporting the team in meeting deadlines across residential and commercial developments in California.

Responsibilities
• Lead the preparation of detailed construction documents using Revit (required) and CAD for California projects.
• Ensure accurate integration of MEP, Structural, and Civil Engineering plans into architectural design.
• Oversee project coordination with Design Leads, Engineers, and consultants, ensuring seamless workflow.
• Implement rigorous quality control processes to ensure compliance with California Building Codes and City/County Zoning laws.
• Manage project documentation, including schedules, coordination records, and technical reports.
• Represent the design team in client meetings, presentations, and reviews, incorporating feedback into deliverables.
• Prepare and manage complete submission packages for Building Permits across multiple jurisdictions.
• Mentor junior associates, providing guidance on drafting standards, compliance, and project workflows.
• Contribute to workflow optimization and process improvements within the design department.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• 5–10 years minimum drafting experience in the Architecture/Construction industry. Previous US project experience strongly preferred.
• Revit proficiency is required. Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Bluebeam is a plus.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with proven ability to manage project workflows.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry-specific standards and California compliance requirements.
