JOB OVERVIEW

We want a Video Editor who actually cares - someone who watches tutorials on their days off, studies what's working, and notices when captions are 2 pixels off. If you're constantly learning and improving, keep reading. If you're just looking for any editing job, this isn't it.

You'll edit across three formats:

Short-form clips - Reels, TikToks, Shorts. Finding the best ---------- nts, crafting hooks, making videos people actually watch.

Long-form episodes - Full podcast edits. Pacing, cuts, audio polish, making hour-long conversations feel tight.

Trailers - Cinematic, high-energy promotional videos (think Diary Of A CEO style). These need real editing chops - dramatic pacing, music, powerful ---------- nts strung together.

Design matters here. Your videos need to look polished - title cards, captions, graphics, layouts. If you don't have a good eye for design, this role will frustrate you.

This role is right for you if you:

- Are always learning - you seek out new techniques, watch breakdowns, stay curious
- Can edit both quick social clips AND polished long-form content
- Get excited about creating trailers that give people chills
- Have a sharp eye for ---------- nts that will hit
- Care about design - your captions, titles, and graphics look intentional, not default
- Can work fast without dropping quality
- Take pride in clean, polished edits

The Right Person Will:
- Have a strong portfolio showing range - short-form clips, long-form edits, and ideally trailers or promo videos (no portfolio, no consideration)
- Have a good eye for design - your title cards, captions, and graphics look polished, not like default templates
- Be a genuine learner - you actively improve your skills, seek feedback, and stay on top of what's working
- Know DaVinci Resolve well - multi-cam, colour correction, proxies, basic audio in Fairlight
- Have motion graphics skills - we use Fusion inside Resolve, but After Effects experience transfers (you can learn Fusion quickly)
- Understand short-form trends: hooks, pacing, captions, what works on TikTok/Reels/Shorts
- Know how to edit for emotion - trailers require pacing, music selection, and building to ---------- nts
- Care about details - no sloppy captions, no audio issues, no "good enough"
- Be a self-starter who manages their own time and hits deadlines
- Stay organized when handling lots of source files and outputs
- Communicate clearly in English (written and spoken)
- Be comfortable with cloud tools and open to AI workflows (transcription, clip finding)
- (Bonus) Have a genuine interest in podcasts or content creation
- (Bonus) Familiar with Figma, Photoshop, Canva, or other design tools for graphics/thumbnails

What You'll Do:

Short-Form Clips:
- Watch long-form podcasts and find the best ---------- nts for clips
- Edit vertical videos with strong hooks, good pacing, captions, graphics, music, and sound effects
- Keep turnaround times fast while maintaining quality
- Adapt style for different platforms and client brands

Long-Form Episodes:
- Edit full podcast episodes - pacing, cuts, removing dead air, keeping energy up
- Handle multi-cam footage, sync audio/video, colour correction
- Create and work with proxy files for efficient workflows
- Polish audio and ensure consistent levels throughout

Trailers & Promos:
- Create cinematic trailers that build excitement for episodes or shows
- Select the most powerful ---------- nts and string them together with music and pacing
- Edit for emotion - know when to hit hard and when to breathe
- Think Diary Of A CEO style: high energy, dramatic, makes you want to watch

Quality & Workflow:
- Review your own work carefully before delivery - technical quality, accuracy, brand consistency
- Ensure all design elements look polished - titles, captions, graphics should look intentional
- Keep project files and cloud assets organized
- Work smoothly with the team using our project management and communication tools
- Create thumbnails and graphics when needed (design eye required)

Technical Requirements (Must Have):
- Strong DaVinci Resolve experience (this is mandatory)
- Motion graphics experience - Fusion (preferred) or After Effects (you'll learn Fusion)
- Multi-cam editing experience in Resolve
- Comfortable with proxy workflows
- Basic audio editing (Fairlight is fine)
- Fast, reliable internet (we'll ask for a speed test)
- Powerful editing computer (we'll ask for your specs)
- Familiar with cloud storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience creating trailers or promo videos
- Strong graphic design skills (Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Advanced motion graphics - complex animations, 3D elements, expressions
- Great music selection instincts - you know what tracks elevate edits
- Advanced audio editing/mixing
- Short-form videos that have performed well on social media
- Experience with AI tools for video workflows

Perks:
Work Hours: Australia time (AEST), with good overlap for Philippines (PHT)
Flexible Schedule: Choose your set hours within the collaborative window
Time Off: Flexible leave policy with reasonable notice
Growth: Opportunities for advancement, raises, and bonuses for consistent quality work
Good Team: Remote, forward-thinking, no micromanagement
