JOB OVERVIEW

I'm looking for an experienced SEO specialist to join my UK web design agency team on a part-time basis. We currently specialise in web design, development, hosting and support for WordPress websites, with a strong focus on the sustainability / low-carbon niche, and have been in business for almost 10 years.

You’ll be working with us to help deliver a new service we’ve recently launched for our clients, which combines traditional SEO with cutting-edge Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO).

I already have 5 Filipinos on my team who have worked closely with me for many years, so I have lots of positive experience working with you guys - it's always a pleasure! I also lived in Manila for a few months myself in the past and I'm a big fan of the Philippines :)

**What You'll Be Doing**

Traditional SEO Activities:

- Technical SEO audits and implementation guidance
- Keyword research and mapping strategies
- On-page content optimisation recommendations
- Competitor analysis and benchmarking
- Backlink profile assessment and strategy
- PR outreach for link-building purposes
- Google Search Console and GA4 monitoring / troubleshooting
- Monthly performance reporting

Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO):

- Testing how clients appear in AI responses (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.)
- Monitoring keyword performance and citations in AI answers
- Strategic content planning to improve AI visibility
- Staying current with AEO best practices as this space evolves

Collaboration & Support:

- Providing clear, actionable, strategic recommendations to clients
- Hands-on implementation of recommendations (on-page and off-page)
- Working closely with me on client relationship and account management (I’ll take the lead)
- Ad hoc support on SEO/AEO questions, data requests and insights that might come up

**Required Experience**

- Proven SEO experience - you should be able to demonstrate successful past client work and measurable results
- SE Ranking product experience - this is our tool of choice (paid for by us), so it would be helpful if you’ve already got some experience with it
- SEOPress (Pro) WordPress plugin experience - similarly this is our tool of choice (paid for by us too) instead of Yoast or Rank Math, so it would be helpful if you’ve already got some experience with it
- Strong technical knowledge - comfortable with Google Search Console, GA4, schema markup, technical audits
- Content strategy skills - keyword research, competitor research and ability to guide clients on content creation strategy that will drive results
- AEO awareness - you don't need to be an expert yet (as it's still very new and emerging technology), but you should be curious and already actively learning about optimising websites for AI answer engines
- Clear communicator - able to explain SEO concepts to clients in plain English (written rather than verbal strength is the priority)
- Organised and systematic - you'll be managing multiple (but less than 5 for now) client accounts

**Working Arrangements**

- Part-time basis, expected to start at 10 hours per week to begin with, but should grow over time as we onboard more clients
- Paid weekly via ---------- , in local PHP currency (so no risk of exchange rate fluctuations impacting your pay)
- Flexible working hours - we're driven by quality of work, not shift patterns
- Remote - work from wherever you're comfortable
- Basecamp, Google Workspace, Slack and Hubstaff are our core collaboration tools within our internal team
- I'll take the lead on client communication and relationship management, but I’ll expect you to be comfortable to own the SEO strategy and execution as our subject matter expert
