JOB OVERVIEW

We are a fast-growing, modern UK accounting and bookkeeping business looking for an experienced UK Bookkeeper to join our team long term.

If you do NOT have hands-on experience working with UK clients and UK bookkeeping systems, your application will not be considered.

This is not an entry-level role and is not suitable for bookkeepers who have only worked with US, AU or other non-UK accounts.

About the Role

You will be supporting UK-based accountants and business owners with day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT work, and financial admin. Accuracy, organisation and strong communication are essential.

This is a remote role with long-term opportunity for the right person.

YOU MUST HAVE (Non-Negotiable)

? Proven experience working with UK clients
? Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping rules
? Experience preparing books ready for UK accountants
? Understanding of:

VAT

CIS (preferred but not essential)

UK expenses and allowable costs

Bank reconciliations

Purchase & sales ledger

? Hands-on experience using:

Xero

QuickBooks Online

Sage (Accounting / Cloud / Line 50)

If you have not used these systems with UK businesses, this role is not for you.

Your Responsibilities

Bookkeeping for multiple UK businesses

Bank and credit card reconciliations

Posting purchase invoices and sales invoices

Managing receipts and expense records

VAT return preparation (data ready for review)

Keeping accounts organised and up to date

Communicating clearly about missing information or issues

Following processes and checklists carefully
