We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper to join our growing team on a remote basis. This role is critical to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting compliance for US-based operations.
The ideal candidate has proven experience working with U.S. businesses, a strong understanding of US bookkeeping and tax requirements, and can operate independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
— Record, categorize, and reconcile daily financial transactions with accuracy
— Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice tracking and payment postings
— Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
— Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports (e.g., Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, cash flow summaries)
— Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and variance monitoring
— Support US tax preparation by ensuring books are accurate and audit-ready (no filing responsibility, but strong tax prep support knowledge is required)
— Maintain organized and compliant financial records in accordance with US accounting standards
— Communicate discrepancies, issues, or risks proactively to management
Required Qualifications:
— Minimum of 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience supporting U.S.-based businesses
— Strong working knowledge of U.S. taxation and tax preparation support, including sales tax, payroll-related records, and year-end readiness
— Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (Online preferred) and/or Xero
— Solid understanding of GAAP principles as they apply to small to mid-sized US businesses
— High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity
— Strong organizational and time-management skills
— Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
— Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
— Reliable personal computer, stable internet connection, and a secure remote work setup
Work Schedule & Time Zone Requirements
Company Location: California, USA
Time Zone: Pacific Time (PT)
Working Hours: Must be available to work within 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM PT
Schedule: Part-time (exact hours to be discussed, but availability during PT business hours is required)
Nice-to-Have (Preferred but Required)
— Prior experience supporting U.S. CPA firms or tax professionals
— Experience handling multi-entity or multi-account bookkeeping
— Familiarity with payroll systems and sales tax platforms used in the US
