About Sagewise MIC
Sagewise is a leading Mortgage Investment Corporation dedicated to providing transparent, high-yield investment opportunities and flexible residential mortgage solutions. We bridge the gap between investors seeking stable returns and borrowers needing tailored financing. With a commitment to integrity and precision, we pride ourselves on a "wise" approach to capital management.
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Analyst to serve as a cornerstone of our mortgage and investment operations. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong accounting foundation who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys the intersection of financial analysis and operational administration. You will report directly to senior leadership, ensuring the accuracy of our portfolio and the satisfaction of our investors and partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mortgage & Payment Administration
Execute and verify EFTs for investor distributions and borrower payment collections.
Manage the "exception list," following up on NSF (missed) payments with borrowers, brokers, and legal counsel.
Lead default management coordination and facilitate mortgage renewals, including fee collection and stakeholder communication.
Perform post-funding audits of legal and underwriting documents to ensure 100% compliance.
Handle mortgage discharges and maintain a meticulous digital filing system for all mortgage-related records.
2. Portfolio & Financial Analysis
Analyze complex portfolio data to generate insights for the CEO and COO.
Produce regular performance reports focusing on renewals, defaults, and investor yields.
Prepare accurate, professional statements for investors and brokers upon request.
Support strategic financial projects, including cost-benefit negotiations and property/rental structure reviews.
3. Operational Support
Maintain the integrity of our financial data entry within Mortgage Automator, our mortgage software.
Act as the primary point of contact for financial software troubleshooting and vendor liaison.
Provide administrative support to cross-functional teams and assist with virtual or in-person client inquiries.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Experience: 2–4 years in mortgage administration, banking, or investment accounting.
Technical Savvy: High proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience with mortgage management software (Automator experience is a significant asset).
Attention to Detail: An "extreme" focus on accuracy—you catch the errors others miss in complex legal contracts.
Communication: Professional verbal and written skills for interacting with solicitors, brokers, and high-net-worth investors.
Knowledge: Familiarity with AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and FSRA compliance requirements.
Key Attributes
You are highly organized and prefer a methodical approach to record-keeping.
You are proactive; you don’t just report a problem—you suggest a solution.
You maintain the highest level of ethics and confidentiality regarding sensitive financial data.
Why Join Sagewise?
Growth: Play a key role in a scaling MIC with a clear vision.
Culture: Work with a professional, collaborative team that values intellectual honesty and efficiency.
Stability: Consistent 10 am – 5 pm EST schedule.
