JOB OVERVIEW

Mathspace is on a mission to change maths education with smarter, interactive learning software used by hundreds of thousands of students every month worldwide. We’re also exploring how generative AI can make maths learning more engaging and effective.

We’re looking for a technical, highly personable Engineering Recruiter in the Philippines to help us consistently hire top-of-market engineering talent. You’ll work closely with our CTO and engineering leadership to headhunt, manage our internal pipeline, run first-round interviews (including technical screens), and move standout candidates into the final interview stages.

You’ll be recruiting for roles like:

- Senior UI Software Engineer (React)
- Senior Software Engineer (Backend — Python/Django/GraphQL)
- AI Product Engineer (LLMs / prompt + evaluation / shipping AI experiences)

What you’ll do

- Own sourcing + headhunting: build targeted search strategies, proactively reach out, and maintain warm talent pipelines (Philippines + global).
- Run high-signal first interviews: assess communication, motivations, and role fit—plus technical ability appropriate for a first-round screen.
- Partner tightly with our CTO: deliver crisp candidate summaries, strong signal on strengths/risks, and coordinate next steps.
- Manage our internal pipeline/ATS: keep stages accurate, follow-ups timely, and candidate experience excellent.
- Write job descriptions that attract top talent: create clear, compelling JDs that speak to impact, craft, and growth.
- Pitch Mathspace with authenticity: communicate our mission, culture, and the real engineering challenges candidates will work on.
- Use AI to move faster: use AI tools to improve sourcing, outreach personalization, note-taking, and workflow efficiency (without losing the human touch).

What we’re looking for

- Technical background (e.g., former engineer, CS degree, or deep experience recruiting engineers) with the ability to conduct credible first-round technical screens.
- Strong understanding of modern engineering profiles (e.g., React/JavaScript , Python/Django/GraphQL , and AI/LLM-fluent product engineering ).
- Highly personable and trustworthy: you build rapport quickly and represent Mathspace well to senior candidates.
- Existing relationships / network with engineers in the Philippines and internationally (or a proven ability to build one fast).
- Excellent written communication: outreach that feels human, and job ads that are clear, compelling, and accurate.
- High ownership: you don’t wait to be asked—if a role is stuck, you diagnose and fix the funnel.
- Experience hiring for high-bar product companies (senior/staff-level engineers, AI engineers, full-stack “product engineer” profiles).
- Comfort using GitHub/portfolios to sanity-check technical quality in early screening.
- Experience with structured interviewing, scorecards, and calibration with engineering leaders.
