The Role
We're seeking a highly reliable and versatile professional to join our team as a Community Manager & Content Writer. This role requires someone who excels at both community building and content creation.
Reliability, consistent availability during US business hours, and the ability to handle diverse responsibilities are essential.
This is a dual role: 50% community manager responsibilities and 50% content research, writing.
Community/Social Media Manager Responsibilities (50%)
Community Engagement & Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for community members across all platforms (Substack, YouTube, LinkedIn, X)
Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries promptly and authentically to foster meaningful connections
Monitor community conversations and engage proactively to build relationships with founders and knowledge workers
Identify and highlight valuable community contributions and success stories.
Event Coordination & Support
Support founders in organizing and coordinating tech events and community gatherings
Manage event logistics including scheduling, venue coordination, attendee communication, and follow-up
Create event promotional materials and manage event-related communications
Coordinate with speakers, sponsors, and partners for seamless event execution
Gather post-event feedback and compile reports on event success and community impact.
Social Media (Linkedin/X) Management & Automation
Manage and automate social media posting schedules across all platforms
Create and schedule platform-optimized content:
LinkedIn: Thought leadership posts and professional insights
X/Twitter: Engaging tweets and threads
YouTube: Video descriptions and community posts
Edit video content including YouTube interview clips and short-form social media videos
Curate and reshare relevant content from community members and industry leaders
Maintain consistent posting schedules and engage authentically with comments and industry conversations
Monitor trending topics and platform analytics to optimize reach, engagement, and growth
Collaborate with leadership on integrated cross-platform content strategy
Provide regular performance reports with actionable insights.
Content Research & Writing Responsibilities (50%)
Company Research & Article Writing
Research companies, startups, and industry trends to identify compelling stories and insights
Write standalone articles, case studies, and in-depth analyses for publication on our platform
Conduct interviews or gather insights from founders and industry leaders to create authentic, valuable content
Synthesize complex business information into clear, engaging narratives that resonate with our audience
Develop analytical, data-driven content that provides actionable insights for founders and knowledge workers
Video Script Writing
Write clear, engaging scripts for YouTube interviews and video content
Adapt long-form content into concise video scripts optimized for different platforms
Create compelling video descriptions and titles that drive views and engagement
Collaborate with video production team to ensure scripts align with visual storytelling
Newsletter Management (Substack)
Research, write, and edit weekly Substack newsletters covering startup advice, founder stories, and tech industry trends
Craft compelling subject lines and opening hooks to maximize open rates
Optimize newsletter format and content structure to drive engagement and subscriber growth
Analyze performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, subscriber growth) and implement data-driven improvements
Maintain consistent publishing schedule and editorial calendar
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in community management, social media management, content writing, or digital marketing, preferably in tech, business, or startup ecosystems
Exceptional writing skills with ability to craft clear, engaging, and grammatically correct content across multiple formats (articles, newsletters, social media posts, video scripts)
Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and style with ability to adapt tone and voice for different platforms and audiences
Proven track record managing multiple social media platforms with demonstrated growth results
Strong organizational and coordination skills with experience managing events, logistics, or community initiatives
Deep interest in and knowledge of the startup ecosystem, tech industry trends, and founder challenges
Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently while maintaining proactive communication
Experience with social media automation tools and content scheduling platforms
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience creating content for founder/entrepreneur audiences
Familiarity with Substack, newsletter best practices, LinkedIn algorithms, and X/Twitter engagement strategies
Knowledge of the broader tech ecosystem and key industry players
Experience with social media analytics tools (LinkedIn Analytics, X Analytics, Substack metrics, YouTube Analytics)
Understanding of community building and audience development strategies
Experience conducting interviews or gathering insights from industry leaders
