JOB OVERVIEW

Join a small, fast-growing team creating high-quality documentary videos — and grow your animation career alongside the channel.

Our primary channel is Futurology, a YouTube channel with 354,000 subscribers and over 150 million lifetime views. We’re a lean team of three, currently focused on rebuilding ---------- ntum, increasing upload frequency, and steadily raising the quality bar of our documentary-style content.

We create geopolitics, infrastructure, and future-focused documentaries that rely heavily on clear, thoughtful 2D/3D animation to explain complex ideas. Our goal is steady improvement — in storytelling, visuals, and production systems.

The Role
We’re looking for an animator to help produce high-quality animations in After Effects (and Blender where applicable) for documentary-style YouTube videos.

This is not a simple editing role or a casual freelance gig. You should already understand core After Effects fundamentals, including motion and timing, keyframing and easing, masking, effects, transitions, basic compositing, and visual clarity. Experience creating map-based animations with Geolayers 3 is required.

What matters most is a strong willingness to improve, advance your skills, and steadily raise your animation quality over time.

Professional maturity is extremely important to us. This means clear communication, reliability, meeting commitments, respect for teammates, no ego, and taking ownership of your work.

Requirements
- Basic experience in Adobe After Effects
- Familiarity with motion fundamentals (keyframes, easing, masking)
- Strong work ethic and full-time availability
- Interest in documentary storytelling and visual explanation

- Computer with at least 16GB RAM

Compensation & Growth

This is a long-term role, not a short-term gig. While the base pay starts at $6/hour due to current business constraints, our intention is to increase pay over time for tea ---------- mbers who make a real impact. As the channel grows in views, revenue, and consistency, pay raises and bonuses grow alongside it.

Our goal is to build a small, highly capable team where strong contributors can grow into trusted, well-paid, long-term roles as the channel scales.
