JOB OVERVIEW

We’re a premium beauty, travel, and fashion brand + education company. We publish daily short-form content and need a part-time editor who can deliver high-end, scroll-stopping Reels/TikToks that match our aesthetic and drive retention.

Role Summary
Edit and package short-form videos (15–60s) for IG Reels and TikTok with strong hooks, crisp pacing, premium typography, tasteful effects, and sound design. You’ll work from our raw footage, UGC, screen recordings, and B-roll, and occasionally source tasteful copyright-free b-roll when needed. The content mix varies weekly across beauty, travel, and fashion—always on-brand.

Responsibilities
Edit 3–10 short-form videos per week (15–60s each).
Craft attention hooks in the first 1–3 seconds.
Add on-brand captions, kinetic text, tasteful transitions, and light motion graphics.
Color grade, audio clean-up, and music/sfx selection suitable for IG/TikTok.
Deliver platform-ready exports in required ratios (9:16 primary; 1:1/4:5 when needed).
Create 2–3 creative variations per top concept for A/B testing (hook, caption style, thumbnail).
Produce thumbnail frames/covers optimized for IG grid and TikTok profile.
Maintain file organization in Google Drive/Notion (project folders, versioning, naming).
Hit agreed turnaround times (standard: 24–48 hours per edit once assets are provided).

Requirements
2+ years editing for social (Reels/TikTok/Shorts) with a premium look.
Expert in CapCut Desktop or Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a plus).
Strong typography and layout sense (clean, modern, luxury).
Fluent written English; can proof captions and on-screen text.
Understands hooks, pacing, retention curves, and CTA placement.
Comfortable following a brand guide and replicating styles from references.
Reliable internet and consistent availability with some EST overlap (at least 2 hours).
Organized, fast, and responsive—no hand-holding.

Nice-to-Have
After Effects for light motion graphics and logo stingers.
Experience editing travel or beauty editorial content.
Familiar with social analytics (retention, completion rate, CTR on covers).
Basic thumb/cover design in Photoshop/Canva.

KPIs You’ll Be Judged On
Hook effectiveness (3-sec hold).
Average watch time and completion %.
On-brand visual consistency (color, type, spacing).
Turnaround speed and revision efficiency.
Export correctness (ratios, resolution, loudness, compression).

Compensation
Choose the model you prefer (we will finalize after we review your portfolio and speed):
Hourly: USD $5–$9/hr (based on skill, speed, and portfolio)
Per Video: USD $20–$45 per finished deliverable (includes captions, sfx, and 1 thumbnail)
Bonuses: Performance bonuses for high-performing edits that hit target retention/engagement

Part-time: ~ 10–20 hrs/week to start, with room to scale if you deliver.

Short Paid Trial (Required)
If shortlisted, you’ll complete a paid trial:
We provide a raw 30–45s clip + brief.
Deliver: 1 final edit (9:16), captions on, music/sfx, and 1 thumbnail frame.
Turnaround: 24 hours.
Goal: Match the polish of the references and show strong hook + pacing.

Working Style
We provide a concise brief + assets folder.
You propose 1–2 hook options and caption style before finalizing.
Keep versions organized; name files clearly.
Be proactive—pitch ideas for hooks, on-screen copy, and cover frames.
