JOB OVERVIEW

Millwork company is seeking an experienced Millwork Drafter to produce precise, fabrication-ready shop drawings for high-end custom architectural millwork projects.
This is a production drafting position. The role focuses exclusively on AutoCAD shop drawings used directly for manufacturing and installation - not design development, 3D visualization, or rendering.
We are looking for a drafter who understands millwork construction, ideally with experience gained through prior drafting work in a millwork shop or hands-on experience in cabinet fabrication and installation. The ideal candidate understands how approved shop drawings translate into cutting, machining, assembly, and field installation.

Responsibilities
- Produce detailed, production-ready millwork shop drawings in AutoCAD based on architectural drawings and project scope
- Develop complete drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, and fabrication details
- Fully dimension all components, materials, finishes, hardware, joinery, and clearances
- Integrate appliance specifications and specialty hardware requirements directly into drawings
- Apply professional millwork construction standards including seam layout, grain direction, tolerances, reveals, and installation clearances
- Revise drawings based on internal redlines and coordination feedback
- Maintain disciplined file organization, naming conventions, and version control
- Prepare coordinated PDF and CAD packages for internal review and shop release
- Communicate technical questions and drawing status clearly with Project Managers

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience producing millwork shop drawings for fabrication
- Direct experience working in a millwork or cabinet manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of cabinet construction, joinery methods, hardware integration, and installation sequencing
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- High level of accuracy, technical discipline, and attention to detail
- Conversational English for coordination with PMs and internal teams

Not a Fit If
- Your background is primarily in 3D modeling, rendering, or interior design visualization
- You do not have real production-level millwork experience
- You have not prepared shop drawings that were used for actual fabrication

Nice to Have
- Hands-on cabinet assembly or installation experience
- Experience coordinating appliance integration and specialty hardware
- Familiarity with US architectural standards and field coordination
