JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented Plan Takeoff Specialist to read blueprints and accurately measure distances between specific points on construction drawings. This role is focused on precision measurement, not estimating prices or managing projects.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with scaled drawings, understands architectural and/or engineering plans, and can consistently deliver measurements within 1/8-inch accuracy using digital or manual tools.

Key Responsibilities
Blueprint Review & Measurement

Read and interpret architectural, civil, and/or trade-specific blueprints

Identify correct drawing scales and verify scale accuracy

Measure distances, lengths, and paths between designated points on plans

Document measurements clearly with references to sheet numbers and details

Ensure measurements meet required tolerance (within 1/8 inch where applicable)

Flag unclear, conflicting, or missing plan information

Maintain organized records of measurements and assumptions

Follow standardized measurement procedures and checklists

Communicate measurement results clearly to internal teams

Ask clarifying questions when plans are ambiguous

Meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and consistency

Required Qualifications

Proven experience reading and measuring from blueprints or plan sets

Strong understanding of drawing scales and measurement calibration

High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

Ability to document work clearly and consistently

Applicants may be asked to complete a short blueprint measurement test to demonstrate accuracy and familiarity with scaled drawings.
