About the Role
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance function with core financial accounting, reconciliations, and reporting activities. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, and assisting with statutory and internal reporting for the group.
This is a full-time remote role, reporting to the Finance Manager. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and consistent delivery against monthly deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate customer invoices and respond to customer billing and account queries in a timely and professional manner
Perform monthly reconciliations of all bank accounts, trade debtors, trade creditors
Monitor overdue balances and support monthly debt collection activities
Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
Support the year-end audit and preparation of financial statements, and monthly and quarterly management reports
Process transactions accurately to support compliance with GST / VAT and PAYE requirements and ensure all reporting and filings are completed within agreed timelines
Support the maintenance of monthly cash flow forecasts
Produce ad-hoc finance reports and perform general finance administration tasks as required
Skills & Experience:
===============
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required)
Foundational understanding of financial accounting principles
Experience using cloud-based accounting software (Xero)
Proficient Excel skills, including basic formulas and reconciliations
Experience working in a structured finance, shared services, or BPO environment (preferred)
Prior experience of tax and compliance in the UK
