Working Hours:

As our business continues to grow, we are now seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide clear visibility on our financial position. This role is essential in maintaining healthy cash flow, preparing payments, and supporting reporting needs using Xero and Google Sheets. You will collaborate with the management team and liaise with our external accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
*Perform bank reconciliations in Xero, including accurate invoice coding and split coding
*Review invoices and payments; flag inconsistencies or potential issues
*Monitor supplier and customer accounts to manage payables and receivables
*Set up payments and prepare remittance advice
*Create purchase orders when required
*Provide visibility on profit & loss, cash flow, and capital employed (e.g., live stock value)
*Collaborate with internal ops and external accountants
*Attend meetings with the director and management team as needed
*Spot-check invoices and understand the business logic behind charges
*Flag discrepancies that may affect cash flow or record accuracy
*Assist with VAT preparation and company year-end account processes
*Help prepare some forecasts and financial insights via Google Sheets
Skills and Qualifications:
Must-Have:
*Strong experience with Xero or a willingness to complete a certified Xero course prior to starting.
*If not Xero-experienced, you must have solid experience with another known accounting tool (e.g., QuickBooks)
*Proficient with Google Sheets (especially formulas, layouts, data interpretation, reporting and presentation)
*High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
*Strong sense of accountability and responsibility
*Respect for handling confidential information
*Good written and verbal English communication skills
*Able to join meetings and handle correspondence with suppliers or customers when needed
Desirable:
*Experience with UK bookkeeping processes (e.g., VAT familiarity)
*Proactive in identifying issues and offering insights'
*Willingness to understand the business—not just the books
*Familiarity with VAT/PAYE submissions
*Experience with e-commerce or inventory-based bookkeeping
