Legal Assistant – Real Estate Law Focus
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant with strong analytical abilities and an interest in U.S. real estate law. This role involves preparing legal filings, conducting title research, and supporting the underwriting of properties targeted for acquisition. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and eager to develop a deep understanding of legal procedures in the real-estate sector.
This is a long-term, full-time position.
Hours: 8 hours per day, including 4 hours during U.S. business hours. 36 hours per week

Our work spans multiple disciplines—including legal, underwriting, engineering, construction, and accounting—and we are looking for a legal professional who can contribute across these areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Legal Work (Core Duties)
• Do legal research
• Conduct title searches using online court records, tax records, GIS systems, and third-party data sources
• Examine chains of title for ownership history, liens, easements, encumbrances, and potential title defects
• Prepare summaries of title, ownership reports, and due-diligence memoranda
• Draft petitions, motions, pleadings, affidavits, and related court filings, primarily in real-estate matters
• Support the underwriting of properties targeted for acquisition by analyzing legal risk, title quality, and transaction viability
General Support
• Research legal issues related to real estate, civil procedure, and property law
• Assist with document organization, evidence compilation, and case-file management
• Research vendors
• Assist with purchasing, billing and other matters.
• Coordinate with vendors, attorneys, county offices, and service providers
• Verify property tax payments
• Support other business functions as needed, including research, data collection, and administrative work

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with legal drafting, paralegal work, or real-estate–related legal research
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written English; ability to draft clear, precise legal documents
• Ability to learn complex legal processes quickly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to shift between legal tasks, research, and general support activities
• Comfortable with technology and willingness to learn new systems
• Helpful but not required: law degree, paralegal certification, ChatGPT or AI-tool proficiency
