Full-Time — Work From Home — Long-Term Position
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing & Coding Specialist. You will help manage our billing operations using SimplePractice, Tebra (Kareo), and TherapyNotes, including filing claims, reviewing claim statuses, submitting appeals, posting payments, and handling other administrative billing tasks.
This is a long-term role with consistent work for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Insurance Billing & Claims
Submit electronic claims through SimplePractice, Tebra, and TherapyNotes
Review and correct claim errors before submission
Track, monitor, and follow up on claim statuses
Manage denials, rejections, and resubmissions
Verify patient eligibility and benefits (when needed)
Process ERA/EOB payments and post them accurately
Prepare and submit appeals or corrected claims
Maintain updated payer guidelines and billing requirements
Administrative Tasks
Update patient demographics, insurance details, and documentation
Communicate with insurance companies when needed
Maintain billing reports, aging reports, and reconciliation spreadsheets
Assist in credentialing and provider enrollments (optional but a plus)
Provide weekly updates on claim progress and issues
Requirements:
Previous experience in Simple Practice, Tebra, Therapy Notes, or something related.
Understanding of CPT Codes, ICD-10, modifiers, and payer rules.
Experience Filing Claims, following up on A/R, and managing denials.
Familiar with ERA/EOB Processing
Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.
Reliable internet and ability to work U.S. Business hours first 3 months.
