BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Toccata Inc. is a proudly Canadian company that builds smart, cellular-connected monitoring devices for remote properties. Our product helps property owners protect what matters most, without needing WiFi. We're trusted by hundreds of customers across North America, from cabin owners to government agencies and airports.

We're a small, growing team looking for a Business Development Manager to help us scale revenue, build partnerships, and grow our sales function.

The Role
We're looking for a driven, results-oriented Business Development Manager to own our sales process from end to end. You'll manage inbound leads, build out our outbound sales efforts, pursue enterprise accounts, and develop distribution and retail partnerships. You'll work directly with leadership to develop sales strategy and grow revenue.

Responsibilities
Inbound Sales
* Respond to inbound leads and inquiries promptly and professionally
* Qualify prospects and guide them through the sales process
* Convert leads into customers with a consultative sales approach

Outbound Sales & Business Development
* Develop and execute outbound sales strategies to generate new business
* Identify and research target accounts (property management companies, government agencies, enterprises, etc.)
* Conduct cold outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn
* Search for and respond to RFPs, government bids, and public tenders
* Monitor procurement platforms and bid boards for relevant opportunities
* Build relationships with key decision-makers at target organizations

Partnerships & Retail
* Identify and build relationships with distributors and resellers
* Pursue retail partnerships to get our product into stores
* Negotiate partnership terms and manage ongoing distributor relationships
* Explore co-marketing and channel sales opportunities

Enterprise Sales
* Lead the sales process for larger, more complex deals
* Develop proposals, handle negotiations, and close enterprise accounts
* Build and maintain relationships with enterprise customers post-sale

Sales Operations
* Manage and maintain the sales pipeline in our CRM
* Track sales metrics and report on performance
* Provide feedback to marketing on lead quality and customer insights
* Contribute to refining our sales process and playbook

Requirements
* 2+ years of experience in sales (B2B experience preferred)
* Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
* Strong experience with cold outreach (email, phone, LinkedIn)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, etc.)
* Comfortable selling to both individual customers and enterprise accounts
* Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently

Nice to Have
* Experience selling physical products, hardware, or IoT/tech products
* Experience with enterprise or government sales cycles
* Experience with distribution, retail partnerships, or channel sales
* Familiarity with property management, real estate, or related industries
