JOB OVERVIEW

Kenny Solar is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Support & Customer Support Officer to assist our customers and internal team with solar system design, troubleshooting, and product support.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of solar PV systems, experience with major inverter brands, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
Provide specialised technical support for solar PV systems, including inverters, panels, batteries, and monitoring systems.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to installations and system performance.
Offer expert guidance on inverter platforms including Sungrow, GoodWe, SolaX, and similar brands.
Assist customers and installers with fault-finding, configuration issues, and system optimisation.
Review system errors, logs, and warranty information to provide solutions or escalate when needed.
System Design
Design complete solar systems including panels, inverters, batteries, mounting layouts, and cabling.
Prepare accurate solar proposals, single-line diagrams, system sizing, and configuration recommendations.
Select appropriate components based on site requirements, regulations, and customer needs.
Ensure all designs comply with Australian standards and product specifications.
Customer Support
Handle inbound phone calls, emails, and online enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Guide customers through technical questions, product options, and troubleshooting steps.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolution notes.
Provide proactive follow-ups on open cases and ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate with installers, sales teams, and manufacturers when necessary.
Administrative & Support Tasks
Process warranty claims and liaise with suppliers and inverter manufacturers.
Track and report recurring issues or product faults.
Support internal teams with technical documentation, manuals, and system guides.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, FAQs, and customer communication tools.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong technical knowledge of the solar industry (minimum 2–3 years preferred).
Hands-on experience with Sungrow, GoodWe, SolaX, and other common inverter brands.
Ability to design solar systems, including electrical layouts and component sizing.
Troubleshooting experience with inverters, batteries, monitoring portals, communications issues, and PV arrays.
Excellent phone manner, communication skills, and customer service focus.
Professional, punctual, organised, and reliable.
Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively.
Experience using CRM systems (Zoho experience advantageous).
CEC design background or solar installation experience is a strong bonus.
