Role Summary
This role blends curriculum design, UI/UX graphics, and gamification/character customization assets.
You will create visual designs for:
curriculum slides
worksheets
infographics
project briefs
badges & achievements
character customization assets (avatars, clothing, accessories)
gamification icons, UI elements, and world-building visuals
Your work will shape what thousands of students see inside the Gameplan platform every day.
Key Responsibilities
Design clean, modern curriculum graphics: slides, diagrams, icons, illustrations, worksheets, teacher guides.
Create assets that enhance learning—visual explanations, simple animations, infographics, step-by-step visuals.
Develop gamified UI elements: badges, XP/level icons, progress bars, quest markers, reward screens.
Create customizable character/avatars, including hairstyles, outfits, accessories, expressions, and poses.
Maintain consistent brand style across all curriculum materials and in-platform graphics.
Work closely with curriculum writers, video editors, and product designers.
Deliver organized files (Figma, PSD, AI, PNG) ready for LMS upload or video production.
Iterate quickly based on feedback and collaborate efficiently in a remote-first team environment.
Requirements – Essential
2+ years of professional graphic design experience.
Strong portfolio showing work in education, eLearning, games, or illustration/gamification.
Ability to design student-friendly visuals that simplify complex topics.
Experience creating character art or avatar-style assets.
Skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma (or similar tools).
Strong sense of layout, typography, color theory, and brand consistency.
Ability to work with templates, style guides, and structured curriculum frameworks.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and ability to collaborate asynchronously.
Nice-to-Have
Experience designing for K-12 or eLearning platforms.
Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or game UI art.
Ability to create simple animations or motion graphics.
Experience working with LMS platforms or educational publishers.
Familiarity with U.S. education standards (CTE, STEM, or digital arts).
Illustration skills for characters, icons, props, or environments.
