JOB OVERVIEW

Looking for someone with a backup in Data Networking, Cyber Security, VoIP / Cloud Phone System configuration and programming.

A plus if you have a SkySwitch or NetSapien background. Common used Switches and routers, are Peplink, Grandstream & Cisco.

Common used Cyber is BitDefender with Ninja RMM

Common used phones are Yealink, Grandstream, Fanvil and Poly

Network Design & Implementation

Keyresponsibilities a Data Network Engineer must handle:

Network Design & Implementation
• Design and deploy LAN, WAN, and data center networks to support business operations.
• Implement Cisco AVVID architecture for efficient VoIP usage.
• Configure routers, switches, and firewalls with secure and optimized settings.
Configuration & Management
Manage router configuration changes and coordinate site surveys.
• Configure VPNs (e.g., Cisco ASA, AnyConnect) for secure remote access.
• Maintain and upgrade network operating systems (e.g., Cisco IOS) to patch vulnerabilities.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
• Monitor and respond to network i ---------- , tickets, and service requests.
• Use tools like SNMP, NetFlow, or packet analyzers to detect performance issues.
• Troubleshoot connectivity problems across multiple protocols (TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, X.25, etc.).
Security & Compliance
• Implement firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and access controls
Ensure compliance with data security standards and organizational policies.
• Evaluate and improve BGP offerings for secure and efficient routing.
Documentation & Collaboration
• Maintain network diagrams, engineering documentation, and change logs.
• Interface with cross-disciplinary teams (IT, security, operations) to align network strategy.
• Provide training and support for junior engineers or end-users.
Optimization & Scaling
• Continuously evaluate network performance and recommend upgrades.
• Optimize bandwidth usage, QoS policies, and load balancing.
