About RLW Consulting
RLW Consulting is a U.S.-based strategy and business development firm that helps organizations identify and secure funding across five key areas: donations, grants, loans, investments, and commercial and government contracts. We provide high-quality consulting, writing, and project management support to nonprofits, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.
This role sits within our debt and equity fundraising practice, which focuses on developing strong funding strategies across loans, investments, and blended finance opportunities. We create clear, persuasive materials to help clients secure growth capital. Our remote team values professional writing, precise research, and accountability in everything we deliver.
Our culture values accuracy, independence, professionalism, and accountability.

Position Overview
The Loan & Investment Specialist will support RLW Consulting’s financial proposal work, including preparing investor materials, pitch decks, and loan applications. This role requires a solid understanding of finance, capital access mechanisms, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively.

The ideal candidate will also manage their own projects—developing schedules, tracking deliverables, and coordinating inputs across stakeholders. The position may also involve preparing and submitting materials for RLW Consulting’s own fundraising efforts, such as loan, investment, or accelerator applications.

Key Responsibilities
Research loan, credit, and investment programs relevant to client and RLW Consulting projects.
Write and edit financial proposals, loan applications, investment memoranda, and due diligence responses.
Develop pro forma budgets, ROI models, capitalization tables, and basic financial analyses.
Build and maintain reusable content libraries and standardized templates for loan and investment submissions.
Manage your own proposal schedules, set milestones, track deadlines, and ensure on-time submission of deliverables.
Assist with registration profiles and due-diligence questionnaires for lenders, accelerators, and investment platforms.
Demonstrate familiarity with SBA loans, CDFI programs, and investment accelerators such as Y Combinator, Techstars, 500 Global, and MassChallenge.
Demonstrate familiarity with venture capital firms such as Harlem Capital, Backstage Capital, Kapor Capital, and similar impact-focused funds.
Create PowerPoint decks, investor summaries, and financial pitch materials that meet professional standards.
Log opportunities, submissions, and deliverables in Bitrix24 and maintain accurate records of outcomes.
Use AI tools for formatting, data collection, or structure only; final work must be written and edited independently. Research should be gathered from multiple credible sources, including AI, and reviewed and analyzed by a human.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business.
5+ years of experience writing financial or investment-related proposals.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
Excellent English writing and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Application Requirements
Resume (PDF)
Writing sample (2–3 examples)
Two professional references
