Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) based in the Philippines to manage the full accounting cycle for three small, growing businesses . This role is critical and requires proficiency in US accounting standards and compliance.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) and a valid Philippine CPA license.
Highly Preferred: Current or previous pursuit of the US CPA or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional accounting or bookkeeping experience working primarily with US-based small businesses (SMEs).
Proven experience managing financial records for multiple clients/businesses simultaneously.
Technical Expertise (Hard Skills):
Expert Proficiency in Accounting Software: Mastery of QuickBooks Online (QBO) is mandatory. Experience with Xero or other cloud-based platforms is a plus.
Advanced Data Skills: Expert level use of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis.
US Tax Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental US GAAP and experience with basic US tax preparation/documentation (e.g., preparing records for 1099s, gathering data for corporate/LLC tax filings).
Payroll & Compliance: Direct experience processing or supporting US payroll (e.g., via Gusto, ADP) and managing sales tax compliance across various US states.
Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for all daily, monthly, and quarterly financial operations for all entities:
1. Full-Cycle Bookkeeping & Reporting
Perform timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial closes.
Conduct daily bank and credit card reconciliations for all accounts.
Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
Generate accurate Financial Statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and executive summaries.
2. Financial Analysis & Strategy
Develop and monitor annual budgets and cash flow forecasts.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to small business growth.
Provide proactive financial advice and strategic recommendations to the business owner.
3. Compliance & Administration
Ensure all transactions comply with US GAAP.
Organize and prepare all necessary documentation for annual tax filings (coordinating with the US CPA firm).
Maintain a clear and organized digital filing system for all financial records.
