JOB OVERVIEW

E-commerce Manager (DFY) — Product Research · Store Build · Creatives · Ads

Full-time · Remote

About the Role

We run a high-velocity Done-For-You (DFY) e-commerce program for investor-type clients. You will own the end-to-end build and launch of stores and campaigns over a 60-day sprint: product research ? store setup ? creative production ? launch ? ad management ? iteration. The goal is simple: do the maximum reasonable work in 60 days to validate and scale winners—or transparently document tests when they don’t meet standards.

What You’ll Own (End-to-End)

Product Research: Rapid validation, competitive angles, pricing, light PMF checks.

If a product underperforms early (poor first-data), pause and switch—no ad-spend waste.

Allowed to test one winner across multiple students (different ad accounts/audiences).

Store Building: Fast, clean, conversion-ready storefronts (home/product/cart/checkout), upsells, trust, policy pages.

Creative Production: Functional > perfect. Use AI and templates to ship iterative UGC, hooks, statics, short-form, variations for fast testing.

Media Buying: Launch, structure, and manage campaigns; budgets, targeting, CBO/ABO, retargeting, bid strategies; daily/48h optimization cycles focused on ROAS-impacting inputs.

Reporting & Communication: Looms + update calls, clear metrics, decisions, next steps. Transparent logs of tests and outcomes.

How We Work (Principles)

ROAS first: No “nice-to-have” busywork (e.g., organic social) unless it affects revenue.

Speed & iteration: Ship ? measure ? change product/creative swiftly; keep the store.

Documentation: Short Looms and checklists for every major change.

Transparency: If it works ? scale. If not ? show exactly what was tested.

Your First 60 Days (Typical)

Week 1–2: Research 3–5 products, build store v1, produce creative packs v1, launch test campaigns.

Week 3–4: Kill underperformers, refactor creatives, iterate offers/angles, tighten PDP, expand audiences.

Week 5–8: Scale validated SKU(s), add creative v2/v3, deepen LTV (bundles/upsells/email basics), document everything.

Success Metrics (You’ll Be Measured On)

Speed to First Data: Time to launch from brief (target: ?7–10 days).

Testing Throughput: # of creative/product iterations per week.

Decision Quality: Timely pauses/switches on poor data; clear rationale.

Unit Economics: Progression in CPR/CTR/CVR/CPA/ROAS during the 60-day window.

Client Experience: Update cadence (Looms/calls), clarity, and renewal propensity.

Requirements (Must-Have)

Hands-on DFY/agency experience across product research, store build, creatives, and paid social (Meta/TikTok/Google—Meta required).

Performance mindset: Comfortable killing ideas quickly and switching SKUs.

Tooling: Shopify, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, product spy tools, creative editors (CapCut/Premiere/Canva), and at least one AI workflow (scripts/voiceover/image).

Communication: Clear English, concise Looms, structured weekly updates.

Availability: Full-time; able to manage multiple accounts concurrently.

Nice to Have

Background in UGC pipelines, briefs, and influencer seeding.

Experience with offer tests (pricing, bundles, urgency, guarantees).

Knowledge of email/SMS basics (flows for post-purchase/abandon) as revenue assists.

Familiarity with CBO/Advantage+ Shopping, creative exhaustion detection, and bid caps.

Compensation & Upside

Base per client: $150/month per customer ? $300 per customer for a 2-month sprint.

Typical load: 15–20 customers simultaneously ? example: $300 × 20 = $6,000 per 2 months (base).

Bonuses:

$100 for a video interview (case study) you help produce.

Performance bonuses (examples): $200 for hitting $10k in 30 days; $500 for $50k in 90 days.

Profit share: 5–10% of the customer’s profits (usual baseline 10%), when applicable.

Renewal assist bonus: % bonus if you concretely assist the seller to secure a renewal or DWY (e.g., you run/record a consult that motivates the client to renew).

Growth path:

Service renewals ? increased portfolio / higher base.

DFY/Delivery Manager Rep track with additional fixed monthly compensation.

Expanded profit-share on accounts you scale.

Important: Covering both roles (store + ads) is full-time. Each client runs on independent ad accounts; audience overlap is managed in testing.

Tools You’ll Use

Shopify · Meta Ads Manager · TikTok Ads (nice) · Google Ads (nice) · GA4 · Product research tools (AdSpy/Pipiads/Ecomhunt or similar) · CapCut/Premiere/Canva · Sheets/Docs · Slack · Loom.

Schedule & Collaboration

Remote. Flexible hours, but you must maintain daily ad checks and scheduled client updates.

Weekly ops call, async Slack, and shared trackers.

You’ll maintain a clear testing log per client.

What Success Looks Like (90 Days)

You’re running multiple client sprints with on-time launches and disciplined test cadences.

You can diagnose quickly (creative fatigue vs offer vs PDP vs audience vs price).

You’ve produced case-study-worthy results OR clean documentation showing rigorous tests and next steps.

Your client renewals and referral rates are trending up.
